Hokkaido (北海道, Hokkaidō, literally "Northern Sea Circuit") (Japanese: [hokkaꜜidoː] ( listen)), formerly known as Ezo, Yezo, Yeso, or Yesso, is the second largest island of Japan, and the largest and northernmost prefecture. The Tsugaru Strait separates Hokkaido from Honshu. The two islands are connected by the undersea railway Seikan Tunnel. The largest city on Hokkaido is its capital, Sapporo, which is also its only ordinance-designated city. About 43 km north of Hokkaido lies Sakhalin Island, Russia, whereas to its east and north-east are the disputed Kuril Islands.

Fantastic virtual tour! The guide, YH, was a delight, full of knowledge, laughter and fun anecdotes. We were complete Sake beginners and learned so much. The material is well prepared and very personal with many opportunities for questions. I cannot wait to visit in person!

We were only the 2 of us (due to Covid limited trips) so we felt the experience as being really personal and intimate. Beautiful scenery around Lake Shikotsu enhanced by the explanations of the guide. Bikes were in a very well condition. Being an all day tour, we had plenty of time at each stop to enjoy all there was to see and do (we decided the "more adventurer" option, but the guide will adapt depending on your personal expectations). The guide has a good English understanding so the communication was easy. Overall, a really nice and memorable experience. Highly recommended.

Matsumae is the northernmost castle town in Japan. We reproduced celebration table of wedding ceremony of Prince of Matsumae clan based on literature!
