Stone Cottage Cellars is a family business and an ongoing labor of love. Our adventure started in 1994, when we left the corporate world to begin a new and sustainable chapter in our lives that would allow us to raise our family in a rural community, connected to the land. This mission led us to the North Fork Valley, and a passion for fine wines led us to purchasing one of the highest elevation vineyards anywhere in the world. Being “connected” is something we sought out, but little did we know what that would actually involve, and how hands-on our new life would be. Over the years, we built Stone Cottage Cellars from the ground up, stone by stone, from the Stone Cottage, to the wine cellar, to the tasting room. Currently, we are building a larger home to house our growing family, with plans to add more winery space and another wine cellar at some point in the future. Our vision will never be complete, but our lives are more fulfilled.
We visit Stone Cottage whenever we are in Paonia and had a wine tasting weekend with Karen and Brent in early summer - it was well organized and we had a great time wine tasting, visiting orchards and having dinner at the winery. I particularly like their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. We are going back at the end of this month for another dinner in their vineyard. Theirs is the kind of experience that most people are looking for in a wine tasting!

Black Bridge Wines originate in our high-altitude Orchard Valley Farms vineyards, where Pinot Noir, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Riesling grapes thrive. Our name is inspired by the nearby historic bridge that spans the North Fork of the Gunnison River that waters our farm & vineyard.
Visiting the Black Bridge Winery in Paonia, Colorado, is such a fun experience. The rustic building boasts several Colorado food products ranging from olive oils, to balsamic vinegars, local cheese, honey, and of course fruit. They also have great meats, hot sauces, jams, pastas, juice drinks, and of course, wine! Visitors can stop in to pick local fruit in their orchards and gardens, or eat lunch at the picnic tables or brightly colored Adirondack chairs that line in the North Fork of the Gunnison, River. The owners of the Black Bridge Winery go all out to decorate for holidays and seasons. If you need gifts to take home with you, or enjoy gourmet products for yourself, this is your place!
Qutori Wines, owned by the Bennett family, offers award winning wines. Our tasting room is located inside Root and Vine Market.
