The side trip to Neils Harbor was rewarded with a couple great little foody spots. The views where stunning and the village is pure fishing / working village. Glad we traveled up this little road. Did not expect to see an icecream shop inside a lighthouse..unique for sure. The chowder house next door had one of the top five chowders of my life.. the chef dumped the sea food locker into this concoction of yummy.

We ate dinner from the food truck and sampled beers. Nice outside seating and friendly staff. Beers were excellent and food truck dished up excellent local, organic fare with generous portion sizes.

Making Greatness in Unexpected Places. Sydney's first Craft Brewery offering four flagship beers: Black Angus IPA, Red Coat Irish Red Ale, Sons of Hector Brown Ale, Sterling Hefeweizen, and a rotational seasonal beer. Enjoy a taste of Cape Breton, local music, and brewery tours.
They have great beer and a friendly setup. The inside of building has great swag! Can't wait to come back with my buddies!

We visited in August and did the tour and had lunch. The Good. 1. The tour was excellent and took about 30 minutes. The guide was very informative and friendly and free samples were a bonus. 2. The location is very pretty and the grounds are really well kept. 3. The place has a real community feel. 4. The restaurant has lots of whiskies available to try and the food was good including a tasty chowder. Service was good and there was a group playing local music. 5. The shop sells a wide range of whiskies and other local produce and the staff are very helpful in helping you choose the right products. The Bad Nothing Overall As a whiskey fan, this was a great stop but even if you aren't here for the drink, the location and food are both worth a detour. Would highly recommend.
