We visited Pennywell with our 6 and 11 year old. We had last visited 5 years ago. It was a fantastic day with activities every half hour. It meant there was not much time to try out some of the other things on offer but we wanted to make the most of the more ‘hands-on’ experiences. We arrived at 10.15am and left as the farm was closing at 5pm...we could have easily spent a few more hours here. We cuddled baby pigs, Guinea pigs, rats, bottle fed baby goats, milked a goat, collected eggs, met a hedgehog, watched ferret racing and pig racing...the kids loved the red rocket ride and tractor and trailer ride...they also loved the assault course...my sons highlight was walking a goat which was so much fun...there was also an indoor bouncy castle area that went down a great. Our farmer Becca was amazing...informative, friendly and making sure everyone got a chance to do the activities...we also loved Izzy on the tractor ride. The show with Mr Phil was hilarious... What a great family day out with lots of memories made...thanks Pennywell. I’m so pleased that you have not lost your charm or family feel which was there when I visited as a child myself...

Looking for a fantastic day out? This family-owned attraction is small enough to provide a friendly and personal service, with enough to keep visitors happy all day. What sets Totnes Rare Breeds apart is the opportunity to be within hugging range of all the animals. Most enclosures can be entered for close-up stroking, patting and cuddling. The Garden Café (outside the farm) offers made-to order dishes at reasonable prices, from indulgent snacks to tasty meals.
We had such a lovely afternoon at Totnes Rare Breeds. A beautiful ten minute walk from the Pavillion car park (buggy friendly) our one year old loved the farm. So many friendly animals for her to see and they’re very well looked after. We will certainly be back again ????

Campsite owners were delightful and very helpful when booking - The campsite is off the beaten track but easy to find with a sat nav and not far from Newton Abbot - We stayed in one of the cottages overlooking the fields which was so peaceful ! The cottage itself was absolutely lovely , everything you needed to make it home from home including a dishwasher and a washing machine , bedding , towels , tea towels , also we got some cake , eggs and milk on our arrival , such a lovely gesture ! WiFi was absolutely brilliant too ! - This is a working farm but you would never of thought it as it was so peaceful , the only noise was the cows in the morning having a good ole mooo - the rest of the site was lovely and clean and there is even an outdoor pool to enjoy in the warmer months - This is definitely worth a stay either in one of the lovely cottages or camping which ever you prefer - lots of things to do around Devon , beautiful beaches , lovely walks and lovely places to visit !
