Family friendly restaurant in a relaxed atmosphere, can cater for functions and special occasions. Fully refurbished in 2015. Is on major cycle routes and one can enjoy either only refreshments or have snacks or a full meal. Beer garden can be enjoyed at
We haven't been to this restaurant for a long time but, after a friend recommended the place, we decided to give it another try,So glad we did!The man who served us was lovely and chatty without being intrusive, the food was served fairly quickly, cooked just for us so it was nice and hot. We had various chicken dishes, all well cooked. Unfortunately, it wasn't too busy and by 9 o'clock was empty.but hey! Who's complaining. We had a lovely meal with friends and didn't feel like we were in the way. I would highly recommend a visit. We'll certainly go back. The onion lamp was beautiful, as was the coconut light. Now you've got to go and see what I'm talking about! There's lots of lovely art work unobtrusively on display too.

Walked around Sunderland on a cold October Monday night and came back to this restaurant right across from our Travelodge. We were so glad we did. My Quatro Stagione pizza with ham, mushrooms, peppers and onions was absolutely delicious. Husband had a calzone which he really enjoyed. Nice glass of house red and a Tetleys beer. I had cheesecake which was really light almost moussey shouldnât have had it but I felt like a bit of sweet. We were served by the delightful Vilma whoâs studying here but comes from Athens - yep as much as Sunderland has done feat architecture the climate for me says Athens every time!!! Theresa in the kitchen cooked beautifully. Thank you ladies for making what could have been a cold sad evening in Sunderland a warm and cosy one.

Traditional Homemade pub grub Daily specials Function Suite Beer Garden Sunday Carvery Papa's Tapas
We used to regularly have Sunday lunch at Papas Tapas when they were based at The Isis and were disappointed when they closed. Overjoyed to see them now established at The Copt Hill. Still the same first class Sunday lunches (but now a carvery) and warm welcome.Best roast beef dinner ever! Cheers boys, see you again soon.

Food was good, had the roast lamb which was a good sized portion and very tasty. However service throughout was poor. Long wait to order mains, didnât bring drinks we ordered (had to chase) and were left waiting after main course. Restaurant wasnât heaving, so surprised at level of service.

My wife and I had wanted to visit this reataurant for a while but never got around to it. How much did we regret that decision. From the moment we arrived we received a warm welcome. The staff and owner were lovely. The food was superbly cooked by what ws clearly a skilled chef. The chicken shish was full of flavour and very juicy. My wifes Mousakka was equally good and the starters of paprika creamy mushrooms and home made hummus with delicious Turkish bread were equally delicious.Need we say more than the next time we eat out in Sunderland which will be soon we will be coming here.Highly recommended

This is our favourite restaurant of all of the places weâve eaten in the UK. Food and service of the highest quality every time we visit. I had the Chicken Tarragon and my wife had the Hake Paella. Both dishes were prepared to perfection. Every member of staff was amazing too. We canât wait to return
