Restaurant de cuisine traditionnelle. Grande terrasse ombragee dans un grand parc de 3 hectares. facilite de parking. Hotel LOGIS de 11 chambres.
We stayed the night at the hotel, but the food deserves its own review. There are two menus, each with multiple choices for the courses. The foie gras was good, but the cassolette of snails was outstanding, only at La Garrigue (in Edinburgh) have I had its equal. My veal cheek was very well cooked, but the main course highlight was my wife's vegetable risotto, creamy but with delicate vegetable flavours and a little bite to the rice. The cheeses were well chosen and the tarte tatin a delight. All that for 33 euros seemed to us to represent tremendous value. The local wines were well chosen and sensibly priced: the red Sancerre was particularly good. Service was cheerful and efficient. Families with children also seemed to be well catered for. I look forward to going back.Dear guest,Thank you very much for your delightful review and wonderful compliments. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your evening with us - particularly Benoit's food, who's even more delighted and very proud to hear how much you enjoy his food and appreciate our regional wine list. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and for recommending the hotel and the restaurant, we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again at La Sauldraie.Kind regards.Dominique et Benoit AUFRAY

We were passing through Salbris - and a Friday at Les Oliviers was clearly for locals! Friendly welcome, nice table, good menu choice - a la carte and menus at 19.5, 25 and 26 euros. We went for one @ 26 and one a la c. Starters of chèvre chaud and gesiers vg. Then, my faux filet - excellent. Mary's magret - v bad. Asked for it saignant but it was first sliced and then pan-fried! On one side of each tranche. Tough, ugly, shrivelled, not saignant. We told the guy and he offered some faux filet instead. Too late. Then vg desert of gazpacho of strawberries and ice cream. The bill - handwritten, no print-out! Overcharged by 6.50 euros for the wine. I queried it and he said the pichet red wasn't as per menu but 'better' ie costlier. He did then reduce the bill. Here's the best bit! We'd left the money at the table, said bonsoir and the man who'd been at the table next to us rushed over to the waiter, concerned that we hadn't paid! We stood by the door as the waiter, equally hurriedly, went to our table to check that, indeed, these foreigners had not tried to make off without paying. How strange it all was! PS - the chap who'd thought we hadn't paid had shared one module frites with his partner and we'd had a 3 course menu + starter and mains and 2 pichets.

An excellent choice, if you're heading South and like quality food. We chose the â¬26 menu and were not disappointed. Both the Aumoniere de chèvre and the foie de volailles were delicious. The main courses chosen: pluma de porc iberique and rognons en brochette were equally good when accompanied by a demi de rosé. We rounded off the meal with cheese of the region and a couple of coffees which came with both a speculos biscuit and a homemade macaron; we couldn't have wanted more. Excellent.

We dined here while staying at LesAlicourts resort a short distance away. Having read the reviews of the beef we were very much looking forward to our meal and we were not disappointed. A very friendly couple welcomed us to the restaurant and explained all options on the food and drinks menu which is varied and reasonably priced. My son and I ordered the entrecôte steak to be cooked rare- and we were not disappointed. It was delicious and served with fries and a side salad. As it should be- the steak was the star of the show, cooked in front of us on the fire to absolute perfection. Brochettes de boeuf were also ordered to our table and they were also very well cooked and very well seasoned with fresh herbs and tasted really good. The desserts were equally impressive. I ordered a traditional French dessert of baba rhum St James. Itâs a sweetened yeast cake flavoured with generous amounts of rum and cream. Iâll be making an attempt to recreate this when I get back to Ireland for sure! Iâd recommend a visit to Au Coin de Feu as its very reasonably priced for whatâs guaranteed to be a pleasurable experience.
