It is located 77 km south of Chania, on the southwest coast of Crete and occupies a small peninsula 400m wide and 700m long. The town is set along 11 km of coastline bordering the Libyan Sea. It is the seat of the municipality of Kantanos–Selino and its population was 1,675 in the 2011 census.

We heard about this new nice restaurant about our hotel Relax owner, because the lady who works in there is her very good friend.Because we are italian food lover and the place looked attempting, we decided to try and first time we ordered pasta Carbonara and my wife took some nice pasta too.This experience was so good, that visit 3 times more there and had pizza and chef salad (one of the best which we ever have eaten).The staff is so friendly and as you can see those photos, athmosphere is amazing, heart of the village center.We sincerely recommend this nice place to everyone who loves pizza, pasta and different kinds of salads.

An all-day place to have breakfast, or a good home - made meal and enjoy a marvelous view on the best beach-side of palaiochora:) Very often there is a buffet (asian, meditteranean kitchen) for 7 or 10 ⬠.

New restaurant and looks more upmarket than most of the traditional tavernas.You can see into the kitchens which look very flashy and expensive.The waiters were friendly but you got the sense they were trying too hard and it all seemed a bit forced.In fairness the food and service were decent but to me it was a bit too much like being in a restuarant back home.I prefer a traditional taverna although I suspect others may really like this place.Lovely location at the seafront and will probably give it another visit next year.

Tasty mezedes and well cooked dishes. We especially liked squid oozed with maratha a Cretan herb but all we tried was good. The service and the decor were equally good and the staff helpful. A place to visit when in Paleochora.

I only had a cold beer or two haha here on three occasions whilst waiting for pizzas to takeaway but the staff were so friendly and the courtyard/garden setting just lovely. We arrived in Paleochora late on our first night so by the time I was heading out to look for somewhere to get a takeaway it was after midnight but Niki's was open. The pizzas were made to order in the wood fired oven. The spicy garlic pizza was delicious as were the others we tried. We would definitely sit in to eat here as well but after a long day exploring it was perfect for a cold beer and a takeaway back to our apartment and terrace. Great value for money as well.

This is a good place to meet up for a coffee and some sweets, or to secure you some breakfast before you enter the adventures the day will bring you. Friendly an efficient service. Chairs and tables inside with waiters taking care of you during daytime. Here you can sit overlooking the pier where the ferry arrives and departs.
