Set in the village of Worminghall this 16th century pub has 3 real ales, 2 craft lagers and other beers, as well as a selection of fine wines and spirits. Open fires in both bars help to create a warm and friendly atmosphere in the winter months. The food
Went with a friend for dinner last night. Found the restaurant surprisingly empty (the weather was awful so probably only hardy souls turning out.) From the moment we walked in we were given a warm welcome and really looked after. The young man serving us (why didn't I get his name?) clearly knew his job and carried it out fuss free. When my friend asked for a glass of wine he listed from memory the wines available and then gave a recommendation when asked. As well as working behind the bar he was our waiter for the evening. I feel the need to make a big point about the great service as this isn't always evident in other establishments and really helped make our evening - along with the great food of course. A typical country pub offering just a little bit more.

Once the old kitchen and servants' hall, the Manor Restaurant is hung with eye-catching framed Mouton wine label prints. The restaurant is fully licensed, with table service provided by friendly waiting staff. Offering teas, coffees and breakfasts during
Taken here by friends to enjoy a wine tasting dinner. What a fantastic experience. Amazing location, pre dinner in the wine cellars followed by a lovely dinner in the Manor restaurant. Lunch for three from a la carte menu. Blue cheese salad to start - excellent. Smoked haddock to follow - excellent. Guinness on tap. Good selection of well priced wines. Not busy. Laurie, the bar guy was fantastic. There is nothing not to like. Highly recommended.

We popped in for a drink as wanted to try the cocktails. It has a nice atmosphere and there is a nice bar area. The cocktails were a bit underwhelming, and all a little bit too sweet. We ordered a second cocktail and were waiting for over 10 minutes so went to the bar, and the waiter apologized as he had forgotten. Not sure I would visit again for a drink, but might do for food, as there were a lot of people eating and the food did look quite nice.

Located in The Old Bank, in central Tring, Lussmanns is the locals' fish and grill restaurant, bringing ethical and sustainable dining to the high street. Dining is relaxed and your comments are welcome. We hope you enjoy eating with us.
High-ish expectations coming here in a small group, with the restaurant having such a strong local reputation. One or two dishes matched that - such as the Duck main course and the Cheese plate; others were very average - a bit like cooking by numbers, Iâm afraid. This was particularly prevalent in the starters: for example, the venison croquettes were of poor texture and tasteless, while the rabbit starter didnât give any impression of having been near a rabbit - nice sauces/dressings but very little spirit at the heart of these dishes. Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to learn that your recent meal was a disappointment. Please do respond to my message sent via Trip Advisor so that I may investigate further. This restaurant in the Five Arrows hotel has strong connections with the Rothschild family and their hospitality and wine. The walls are decorated with past Mouton Rothschild labels and some of the Rothschild wine is available. If you want a proper lunch beautifully prepared then this is the place to experience it. We began with a delicate cheese tart followed by duck so tender it melted in your mouth. I tried the steak pie this is a proper pie not one with the lid stuck on in a dish but a proper pie full of deliciously tender meat and lovely pastry accompanied by Autumn vegetables and a jug of gravy. For the deserts a tart with mango sorbet and a selection of ice cream. Donât be put off by the expensive wine list. Take time to explore it we had a glass of the house champagne by Gustavo Roche it was excellent followed by a glass of chateau Parye Labade one of the Rothschild wines dispensed by the individual sampling method which allows the remaining wine not to be disturbedIf you want a light snack lunch this available but rather misses the point of visiting this establishment. We have visited it over the years and has always been excellent.Ivory S Thank you so much for your delightful review Ivory. We're so happy that you enjoyed yourself and look forward to welcoming you back on many more visits in the future.
