This clean and spacious family restaurant (diner) has the traditional encyclopedic multi page menu and a very good senior menu which includes a salad or soup, entree, vegetable, and dessert, plus rolls and butter. The service is excellent... Two servers took care of its, brought fresh coffee before I asked, brought two kinds of dressing for my salad because I was having trouble deciding. Their friendly approach included many cozy questions about where we are from and what we are doing in Allentown.

Starting today Friday May 16, 2014 they have added a new menu for Friday Seafood Specials. They have Surf & Turf, Clams, Scallops, and my favorite Broiled Seafood Platter which included a Crab Cake, Haddock, Scallops. Very Tasty and all reasonably priced. The owner has also added new items to the breakfast menu. My favorite is their Sausage gravy & biscuits. Great food, Good Service, Caring staff. They have me sold on Jak's Downtown Diner.....

Went with a friend to an antique show in Kutztown and stopped for breakfast at Letterman's Diner right in town. Old fashioned "down home" place where there's service with a smile, and the service was excellent; and the egg dishes were fresh and delicious! The bathroom was clean and we were in and out of the diner pretty quickly. I would definitely recommend this place and next time I'm in town, I'll be back!!

We were headed for home and wanted to stop for breakfast/lunch. Yelp (to the rescue) helped me find the Hometown BB&G - a great choice. The place was HUGE and it had a big crowd. Our 25 minute wait was exactly what we were told when we checked in and it was worth waiting. The menus covered pretty much any sort of breakfast or lunch item that you might want and the service was quick once we were seated. Too bad we don't live closer because we'd certainly be back for more!Thank you for sharing, Linda!We are delighted to hear that you had a wonderful meal with us at The HomeTown Breakfast, Bar & Grill. Great food and excellent service in a nice and clean and friendly atmosphere. We had crab cakes (best we ever had), fried haddock dinner, salmon dinner, fish and fries, and spaghetti and meatballs. Everything was well done and tasty. Salad bar had nice array of salads (macaroni, red beet, pasta,etc) as well as greens and veggies and a choice of 3 soups (lobster bisque was great) and breads. All fresh and tasty. The Boston Creme Cake and Cherry Cheesecake were also great. A busy Saturday night and our server was busy and we were seated along the back side of the bar and she was still able to be very attentive to our needs and we did not have to wait long for our food. Very pleasant experience.
