The calm water and the very few tourist that visit the las Gatas Beach during the week days, makes it a great place to spend the day, in a nice tropical atmosphere with friendly people that will make the Las Gatas Beach Tour a pleasant experience. You will have time to relax in a comfortable lounge chair, have cold drink, maybe read a book and swim in crystal clear water. Luis was a fabulous tour guide! He was very knowledgeable about Xihuacan culture and archeology! We learned so much more about Zihuatanejo, development, beaches, plants and animals too! We even were able to go into a local community and tour a home while enjoying fresh tortillas! The people are so welcoming and kind. Lunch from a local restaurant was provided. The tour took about 5 hours from pick up at hotel to drop off at hotel. Taken in a comfortable a/c van. We highly recommend this tour!!
this is a great oportunity to see one of the most recent and very ancient prehispanic, mexican culture, the cuitlatecas, were a paralel culture to the teotihuacans, mayans and toltecs as well as the aztecs, Xihuacan is a very spetial and emblematic place that this culture considered as a sacred place. Although it was partially destroyed by a tsunami, was never abandoned for its mysticism and magic

We stayed in zihuatanejo, for the week and heard about crocodiles that were in ixtapa, so we rented a scooter from a place in zihua next to "zorros bar" (the ONLY scooter rental ) scooter trip was 30 minutes of jungle scenery and once we got to ixtapa it was quite a sight. no sleepy fishing village, this was a different vibe entirely. a long line of luxury high rise hotels lined the beach (we never saw the beaches in front of the hotels, as we were not hotel patrons...) if this is your style of vacation spot, it will not disappoint. crocodile sight seeing is up the road from this big stretch of $$ hotels, and is free, for a reason. you do see crocodiles, they are all over. they also dont move much and we couldnt find times for anything like feeding where we might better see some movement. beware the taco and food shack vendors waiving you in off the street, they are aggressive! one waived me in, then tried to get me to park in front of his shack, telling me i couldnt park where i wanted. i parked where i wanted and nothing happened. they are all there trying to get by so i understand the desperation, just beware and maybe you wont be as shaken by it as we were. we did find a tine spot of a cove beach to check out, but nearby the fresh water river so the water was brown. still a beautiful spot, a great scenic drive, and im sure the ixtapa main drag hotels have better beaches than the one we saw.

This was a great bike ride through lots of trees and nature. We saw a crocodile basking in the sun. It's paved, some shaded areas and some small inclines. It's a nice ride! Our tour guide, Elouise, was great! She is very friendly, speaks english well and you can tell she loves her job. She went above and beyond to capture great moments of our adventure and educated us on some Mexican traditions. We also saw a beautiful beach and had delicious tacos. It was a fun day in Ixtapa. We will definitely hire her again when we return.
