Went on the 5 day Christmas Ride of Northern Thailand during the Covid shutdown. Hadn't been on a bike bike in a while but picked it back up quickly as the Versys 650 lived up to the hype being a very comfortable and powerful machine. Going into the trip I was expecting to do a casual stroll through the world famous Thailand twisted. What I got was a thrill of a lifetime! Forgot just how much fun carving turn after turn on stunningly beautiful roads on a big bike was. We made rest stops about every hour or so which was good. Not having ridden in a while I was quite surprised I never got uncomfortable on the bike. Kay and Noah looked after all the details for us well and the bikes were well maintained. The hotels were more than adequate and the meals were authentic. If your into sportbiking, you don't want to miss taking a tour with big bike tours. Novice riders take note, you will be pushed to your limits so if your into adrenaline, go for it! Truly a "bucket list" tour! Thanks again Kay and Noah.

I just finished a 5 day 4 night tour of Northern Thailand. My bike was a Versays 650..plenty of grunt and very comfortable. It had been 20 something years since I had been on a big bike and it took a day to feel comfortable riding a big bike again. The tour leaders Kay and Noah understood this and the more experienced quicker guys went out front and those of us that went at a more sedate pace always had someone following us up. With stops usually after an hours riding the pace ended up being comfortable for me. They have a saying RIDE AT YOUR OWN PACE. So providing you are reasonably competent on a large manual bike the tour should pose no problems. The bikes were well maintained we had no breakdowns accidents drops or issues over the 5 days and 1358 kilometres. Trip was well organised and we had a lot of fun at night with a few drinks and great meals. The trip was a bit more of an adventure than I was expecting and I felt personally challenged to extend my riding abilities and getting a little outside my comfort zone on nice sweeping bends or twisting corners was good thing and added to the whole experience. If you're considering a trip look at it as a complete experience..seeing different places eating varied meals meeting like minded guys and riding a big bike on what had to be for me the best riding roads I have ever been on.
One of the most iconic sites in Mae Hong Son is its lake. Right beside the lake, are two magnificent temples - Wat Chong Klang and Wat Chong Kham. With the lake, Nong Chong Kham, and the surrounding public park in the front of the temples and the mountains in the background this is certainly a beautiful place to visit. Continue on to “Wat Phra Thad Doi Kong Moo” which overlooks the provincial city. Constructed by Phaya Singhanatracha in 1860, the first King of Mae Hong Son, the hilltop temple temple comprises of several structures including two chedis and two viharns. An extremely tranquil setting, the top of Doi Kong Moo hill provides 360 degree views of Chong Kham Lake, Mae Hong Son, the Pai valley and the airport to one side and the forested hills of Burma to the other side.

If you are one of those who are interested in observing a rural way of life, this programme should not be missed. At first glance, Nong Khao, 12 kms. from Kanchanaburi, may not look much different from other Thai villages you come across, but with a closer touch, you will get impressed with the way it has always been. Appreciate a modest lifestyle of those in an agricultural society in which most members still earn their modest living by plating rice, raising cattle and weaving cloths. Enjoy E-Taen Farmer truck through the village, where its members always show signs of welcoming foreign visitors, and a panoramic view of the rice paddy fields dotted with patches of fan palm trees. Learn how important rice means to Thai people through a cultural practice of the ritual for the Rice Goddess. Observation of their seasonal activities related to rice plantation will enable you to appreciate their simple way of life.
Inclusions: Bottled water, Snacks, Coffee and/or Tea, Transfer by local truck between Kanchanaburi town and the village, Expenses for all activities prepared by villagers
