The Yellow Pear is a cute little restaurant tucked away in a plaza in St Catharines. Loved the atmosphere and ambience of the place, really cute. I would highly suggest reservations, itâs almost a must. I went on a Sunday with my mom and they had a sign on the door that said they were booked solid, not accepting walk-inâs. So book a table in advance! We had the beef brisket eggs benny and the special for that weekend, king crab eggs benny. Both were really delicious, fantastic eggs benny. There was complimentary banana bread given which was a really nice touch. Iâd love to go back and try the chicken & waffles! I definitely recommend going to The Yellow Pear.

A peculiar little bistro called mirepoix. We serve a little breakfast, and some lunch, but mostly brunch. We serve quality, handmade and freshly baked dishes, focussing on local, seasonal and organic items (wherever possible). Our small, ever changing, bl
My husband and I come to St. Catherines/Niagara several times a year to visit family and always take my elderly parents out for a meal or three when Iâm not cooking for them. Knowing this, my sister-in-law recommended Mirepoix having discovered it during a biking trip. So, today, the parents, husband and I took a drive and landed at Mirepoix. Itâs a tiny wee place with a bright yellow door. We were VERY fortunate that there happened to be a 4-top available when we arrived. (May I suggest you call for reservations). The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Service was outstanding and swift. Locally roasted coffee was excellent (brand name is â416â and we bought a bag to take home) and the food â imaginative, well presented, perfectly prepared, fresh and flavorful. My not-so-easy-to-please Mother all but licked her plate clean. She and Dad both had the mushroom omelette with truffle and chèvre. I was not offered a taste (hmmph!!!) .. but based on their two clean plates, it must have been awfully good. (by the way, Mother said she wasnât hungry when we arrived) I ordered avocado toast which had brunoise tomato-avocado on toasted homemade bread, a sprinkling of capers, a generous portion of excellent quality smoked salmon, two perfectly poached eggs and a side of baby spinach salad. Husband had the âclassic breakfastâ. Two perfect sunny-side ups, freeform sausage, roasted fingerling potatoes, baked beans, pork belly to die for. Pork belly to die for - yes, worth repeating. The eggs must be from local, very healthy and very happy hens - nearly orange yolks that had real old-fashioned egg flavor and a creamy consistency. All of our plates had two generous slices of homemade bread, toasted. Little pots of jams. Coffee refills just when you needed it. Smiles abound - both from staff and every single happy, happy diner in the place. Quality of everything was superb - and in all of our travels around the planet, this breakfast/brunch tops the list. Yes, we absolutely will be back. One word of caution for the elderly or non-ambulatory: there are three rather high stairs to climb from sidewalk to the dining room. P.S. pork belly. pork belly.

Daughter treated me to a belated birthday lunch at Peninsula Ridge. It was a beautiful day and we sat on the patio under the trees with a view out over the vineyard toward the lake. Cold soup of the day was a gazpacho-peach, refreshing and tasty for summer. We had a sangria to accompany our shared Antipasto platter for two. We thoroughly enjoyed the prosciutto, chorizo, duck confit, gherkins, varied kinds of olives, grilled vegetables, flatbread with fruit spread. Almost more than the two of us could eat!Service was exceptional - attentive and pleasant. On departing, we took our own tour of the heritage house while deliberately visiting the upstairs ladies' room (instead of main floor). We decided that we must come back again in a cooler season and enjoy the inside dining room areas (included some secluded little window area nooks!).

Saturday our group of 22 people stopped by Ridgepoint for lunch and a wine tasting. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and accommodating in handling the diverse tastes of our large group. The dining room staff did not disappoint and handled the peculiar requests from the large group effectively and efficiently. The owner even shared some of their wine making secrets and answered all the questions, no matter how basic. They even made a special batch of their fabulous polenta fries for us. We will be going back

Road our bikes from Niagara Falls and it was well worth the effort. Spotless, airy interior was the prelude to an exceptional breakfast experience. Excellent servers brought over 'over-pour' coffees which were sooooo smooth. I had the classic with bacon, sausage, french toast, eggs and yogurt parfait...delicious. A must try!
