My partner and I spent our summer holidays in the south of France this year, and L'escale des Saveurs was certainly something to remember. Set in a silent little square, this family-run restaurant offers local traditional dishes as well as exotic specialties. Friendly environment with an excellent value-for-money choice. If you're in Nime you definitely want to try it.

In the historic heart of the Ilot Littre, in front of market of the "Halles" and just a step from the "Maison Carree" (Square House), come to discover the new restaurant of Nimes.Creative and gastronomic, you can taste a seasonal cooking with products dir
Luckily our hotel concierge steered us to this restaurant, as many of the other good choices in Nimes were closed on this Sunday evening. We enjoyed a basically very good meal as to food quality and preparation. Of note among the appetizers were the extraordinary, very refined goat cheese ravioli and the very good escargot with dried tomatoes served in their shells. Also for the mains, the 2 different pieces of lamb and the veal with a sauce à l'orange were very well presented and very tasty. Service was very slow, possibly due to the number of customers on this Sunday evening, which did not bother us much as we had the time. However, what bothered us much and sort of ruined the otherwise very agreeable meal experience, was a group of 8 people at an adjoining table who were exceedingly noisy and oblivious of any manners - and unfortunately the management did not intervene. There should be a "breakpoint" in any restaurant worthy of a good reputation, where management tries to calm down an unruly crowd.

Wonderful specialities from the south west of France. We had an excellent dinner here last night: started with slivers of foie gras, the duck confit and a delicious cold souffle. Extensive (and expensive) wine list. We had a very nice Chateau Ollieux Romanis Corbieres Bouterac. Excellent, efficient and friendly service. Some in our group tried the cepes risotto and it was delicious as well.

It is not a 3 star restaurant, but in the old city of Nimes a nice place to have a decent and quick diner. You can choose from different small dishes and share them with your company.

The bohemian garden proposes to you every day a slate made from fresh and local products. The slogan of the restaurant "Good mood and good food" perfectly represents the state of mind of our establishment.
We were lucky to get a table due to early arrival. Great ambience in a pretty courtyard. Service knowledgable without being intrusive. Food and wine unbelievable. Cuttlefish starter was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Pave de boeuf main courses faultless and the turnips with them a simple masterpiece. Dessert of ice cream with lemon juice and vodka worked well. Another great evening in Nimes.

The restaurant is bright with a contemporary décor featuring fine art on the walls. Service is casual but professional and knowledgeable. My partner and I enjoyed the "menu du jour" during lunch time: a delicious spinach pie as appetizer, a smoky spiced pork cutlet with perfectly seasoned potato fries, dipping sauce and side mesclun salad with sunflower/linseed garnish as entree. We shared the dessert: panna cotta with fresh strawberries and a berry coulis. All ingredients were fresh and combined with creativity. Highly recommended!
