Courmayeur is a town and comune in northern Italy, in the autonomous region of Aosta Valley. At an elevation of 1,224 m (4,016 ft) above sea level, it is located at the foot of the southern side of Mont Blanc, at 4,810 m (15,781 ft) the highest point in the Alps and western Europe (see Seven Summits), and is crossed by the Dora Baltea river. Courmayeur shares administration of Mont Blanc with its neighboring commune of Saint-Gervais-les-Bains in France, and is consequently able to claim the title of highest commune in Italy. Courmayeur also shares access to the glacial ski run of the Vallée Blanche with another French town, Chamonix, which sits at the opposite, northern, side of the Mont Blanc massif.

We enjoyed the recommendation of local wine and foods from a very kind waitress who lavished attention on our young children. She brought them lots of freshly baked bread and recommended a great gelateria for later. We sat outside on a lovely patio and enjoyed our meal very much. The boar tagliatelle was amazing!

In the cozy village of Entreves, La Brenva offers local cuisine cooked with care coupled with Italian and French dishes, and very well presented. The wine list offers some interesting possibilities, though the choice by the glass is almost non-existent. The menu is inviting but also quite limited. For an entry, a main dish and a dessert you will spend 40-45 Eur drinks excluded, which is not cheap but again not overly expensive. Chef and personnel are friendly, service is really good. Had an amazing comfortable stay at Alberto dei Camosci, extended my stay here as it was just the place for a weary hiker on the TMB trail. The adjoining restaurant serves an truely spectacular buffet breakfast & 4 course Italian dinner(all gluten free on request) that will leave you full for days. Excellent value for money.

Had dinner with friends after a visit to Aosta and would not recommend this place.The place was completely empty (we were the only patrons on a week-end evening) and the food was simply not up to standard: undercooked vegetables (and the dreaded overcooked green leaves), underseasoned meat and high prices for the quality.The service was accomodating and attentive (maybe helped by us being the only ones there) and the wine list is more than respectable.All in all, to be avoided if possible: 5/10

We have repeatedly visited this restaurant over a period of 20 years and it's always been one of our favorites in Courmayeur. During this time the proprietor, Marco, hasn't changed and he always makes us feel very welcome. The food is very good, with both local and creative dishes. The wine list is extensive and Marco also carries excellent local wines. Always a very pleasant experience and we look forward to coming back next time we're in Courmayeur.

This was undoubtedly the culinary highlight of our week in Courmayeur. A very friendly atmosphere and very professionally rub. I had a starter of gnocchi with scallops - delicious. And a main course of fillet steak, beautifully cooked. House wine perfectly good and the whole evening cost c 50 Euros per head. 10 minutes walk from the town centre but well worth it!
