Lingering over pain au chocolat in a sidewalk café, relaxing after a day of strolling along the Seine and marveling at icons like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe… the perfect Paris experience combines leisure and liveliness with enough time to savor both an exquisite meal and exhibits at the Louvre. Awaken your spirit at Notre Dame, bargain hunt at the Marché aux Puces de Montreuil or for goodies at the Marché Biologique Raspail, then cap it all off with a risqué show at the Moulin Rouge.

I hate to say I came here and saw La cantatrice chauve almost sixty years ago, then the same thirty years ago, then this week again. They haven’t aged! It’s the same wonderful absurdist play by Eugène Ionesco. The actors were very professional. The set could have been more evocative of a British drawing room, but was adequate. The play lasts only one hour, followed by La leçon, which was already sold out, maybe because the performance we went to had English subtitles (Wednesdays only). The staff is helpful and amusing. Before and after the show one can enjoy rue de la Huchette and the surrounding streets that are a lot of fun.

Nice theatre, 105 seats, close to Pantheon and near the touristic Mouffetard Street, and famous Quartier latin. One man shows, comedies, classic and modern theatre plays, concerts…

This jazz bar wasn't always known for its smooth jazz acts: boogie-loving GIs frequented its cool, smoky interiors during World War II.
The swing band that we saw Monday night was highly entertaining. Top notch musicians. A few dancers, local regulars I’d guess, were wonderful. Dancers of lesser talents had space & if I’d had a dance partner and any ability I’d have been on the dance floor. We arrived at 9:15, got good seats, and the band started at 9:40 or 9:45.

Restaurant, piano bar, cabaret, live music nested in a medieval vault of the XIIIth century, at the heart of the Latin Quarter.
I found this place accidentally a year ago when my wife and I visited Paris for the first time. And honestly, it was the best experience of our lives! Not kidding. We did not have dinner, so I will not talk about that. We walked in looking for a place to have a late night drink. Just as we sat down I went downstairs and realized there was this whole area that looked like a cavern with live music and it was packed. I ran upstairs grabbed my wife and got our names on the waiting list for a table. It took about 20 min. Must have been around midnight when we got a table and let me tell you, THE NIGHT WAS MAGICAL! They had several performers signing songs from Lady Gaga, to Edith Piaf and some other stuff that sounded like Arabic to us. My wife and I just kept looking at each other like,,, what the hell?? How did we land here?? We danced next to our tables, I shoot video, took pics, etc. until 5am! The talent that we saw that night was incredible! There was a woman who did Bad Romance from Gaga while walking down the table in the middle of the room and I’m telling you the whole place was at a fever pitch! The vive was amazing, the place is very cool, and all I can say is Thank you! to all that made that night so special. If I ever have the opportunity to go back to Paris, THIS WILL BE ONE OF OUR MAIN STOPS! Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart to all of you who were there that night. If anyone does not believe this review, send me a note, I HAVE PICTURES! :)
