This is my favorite place in Tokyo for gyoza. For those that don't know, gyoza is the Japanese take on Chinese dumplings. And Hoanyon makes very good, if not the best, gyoza in the area. There's really two types, one in soup and ones that are fried then steamed known as hanetsuki-gyoza or "gyoza with wings". The wings are the crispy remnants of the starch left over when they were fried. The gyoza themselves are juicy, with a perfectly done wrapper that's not too thick and not too thin. I believe there are six per order so I always order two. That and a cold beer make for a great lunch. They do serve other foods here as well as they are a Chinese restaurant but the reason I've come back time and time again is for the gyoza.
