One evening in New Bern, NC we decided on Chinese food. In entering the Peking Garden, the first surprise was that it was not a regular, sit-down, order from the menu type restaurant. This had been the impression from the photos for the restaurant. Instead, this is order-at-the-counter for either "take-away" or sitting at one of the 3 booths or the 5 tables in the restaurant. The menu had a nice variety and one of us ordered sesame chicken and the other Mongolian beef, along with egg rolls. The restaurant interior is nice enough and was well kept. We could also see that behind the counter was a rather large, neat kitchen. It was obvious that each dish is made-to-order. The second surprise was the our pleasant order taker also brought out our food to the table. The egg rolls were very crispy and tasty. The Mongolian beef was quite tender with a flavorful sauce. The sesame chicken had a nice exterior crunch without overcooking the interior. The order taker even stopped by to make sure that everything was good. It was. Sometimes you don't need a lot of atmosphere nor fancy plates when the food is this good.

We were visiting the area and saw China Wok on the internet - it did not disappoint! It is mostly take out but they have a small area to eat-in. Food was delicious. Very quick and very fresh. Servings were large too. Excellent Chinese dinner. We will be back.

We have picked up from here many times, and are always satisfied.It's pretty basic Americanized Chinese food, with the standard offerings.But they are consistently good, and server large portions for the money.This a take out joint only!While they do have a couple of tables inside, the atmosphere is not designed for a sit down dinner, so call the order in and take it back home, or to the hotel like we do.

This was our first time here and at first we were put off about trying a new place. But it had been recently renovated so we went. Let me tell you as a person who is an expert on all things Asian food this place was AWASOME for a buffet! What needed to be hot was hot and not over cooked. I was slightly disappointed in the sushi selection and other items but I chalked that up to going at lunch time. We will be trying again but at dinner next time.

This is our 'go to' for Chinese Take-out -- for lunch specials for work or dinner at home. Service is amazing! to watch them prepare the food right in front of you on those blazinghot Woks! Hate to think what their gas bill is!! Never had anything on their vast menu that wasn't good; you can get extra veggies, extra meat, no broccoli ( my husband HATES! broccoli so I always get his ), the fried rice - IF you have any left over is great for breakfast the next morning with an egg or two scrambled in; We eat here at least once/twice a month - have for years!

We looked this up on the web and decided to try since we were hungry for some really good oriental food. We were not disappointed at all, and in fact are planning to go back very soon. One of us had orange chicken, which was very well done although the sauce was a bit on the sweet side, and the other member had Kung Pao chicken which was simply delicious. We are going to get a second meal from each.Our server was a perfect delight and quick on her feet.
