Chinese food is Chinese food, except when it's not. A lot of places advertise Chinese, so many restaurants have either catchy or traditional names which are designed of course to get your attention. This place does a great job with everything. Their portions are significant, which is nice since Chinese food is always good for lunch the next day. Ingredients appear freshly harvested, and sauces are not overbearing. If you're in the area and in the mood for Chinese food, whether eating in or taking out, you can do much worse but can't do much better than this place. Enjoy.

I live in the city so I never would have found Mapo on my own. But my Chinese family likes to go here on New Year's Day, so we headed over here as a group. I did see a comment about it not being "real Chinese", but I can say that my sister-in-law, who was born in Xi'an and lived there until her 30's (her family still lives there--she's the only one who resides in the US) has said this is her favorite Chinese restaurant. It reminds her of food she would have in China. And while there are some great dishes here--the country style beef is my favorite, and I don't usually like beef dishes--I was not about to try the pig intestine that even the other Americans said was not bad.

MingHin has been opened for a number of years now in this Naperville location; they open for lunch and dinner as well as you can order for carry outs. Dim Sum, it is my believe they are pre-made and shipped to this location to be heated and served; however, other Chinese dishes are made fresh at the restaurant which are quite tradition Chinese dishes. The service and price here are quite good and consist that is probably one of the reasons that it is still around for several years and many more.

This place has been around for over 20 years. Doesn't look like much but food is very good and service is very attentive. We had the House Pan Fried noodles. It is excellent. Also had the seasoned fried calamari but this was just ok. Love those noodles. Also have the pot stickers. Yum.
