Very nice spot on the beach, very agreeable server. Drinks were very good and the food was quite good. Nothing amazing but just a nice spot to hang.

Le Petibonum

We wandered into Le Petibonum after a booking fell through at a different nearby restaurant--what a happy accident! We did not have a reservation but the staff quickly seated us and served us drinks. The menu was on a large chalk board and the owner/manager took the time to explain every dish in English and give us recommendations so that we could sample the flavors of the island. We began with a sampler appetizer that had several different fish pâtés, all of which were exceptional. We then shared two main dishes--the first was a stewed beef in a tomato sauce accompanied by a loaded baked potato and rice, the second was the real jewel--langoustines in a vanilla cream sauce. If you have the chance, try this dish! It's unlike anything I've ever had and was so delicious. Staff were attentive and friendly and the restaurant was right on the beach. Give it a try if you're in Le Carbet!

La chaudiere is a sure bet and a good place to have lunch after visiting "les jardins de Balata ". On the downside, lunch menu might be limited and they cater to bus operators so the place might get crowded.Even so, still worth the drive. Service is impeccable and all entrees we ordered had outstanding flavor. Will go back when in the area.

We had the pleasure to enjoy freshly made fishcakes and a piñacolada. Both were great and the lady was really to us. It is right on the beach so it can't be a better situation! Certainly a place to stop by for lunch and a nice swim in the clear water of the caribbean sea.

Le Maxximum

I ate here one night because I was dying to eat dinner out someplace. Most restaurants in northern Martinique are only open for lunch. This place, which is little more than a patio near the water is open until 10pm. Amazing! I had the curried chicken and a heineken. I'm Jamaican by birth so my standards are pretty high for curried chicken. It was good, but not great. I had the formule, which included appetizer (acras, which were ok), the entree and then maybe ice cream for dessert. The service was friendly, but inattentive. The cook and server had a bunch of friends visit and I had to stand up and get the waitresses attention to get my check so I could leave. Not a big deal, and kinda typical around these parts, but the overall experience was just ok. I'd give 3.5 stars if I could.
