Delightful cafe on a corner. Opposite a mini market.Small but a very friendly and helpful owner. I was made to feel very welcome. Its a good halfway stop for a break on the Way to Tomar.Very good coffee and some small selection of cakes. Its an international cafe.
Tomar is famous for its awesome "Convento da Ordem de Cristo", a masterpiece of religious architecture. Before visiting the Convent, stop briefly at the "Café Pastelaria Pingo de Mel" for some coffee and divine pastry! The Portuguese sweet tradition is present in Tomar and you should not miss this opportunity of having some delicious "Pastéis de Nata"! Now you are ready to visit the Convent! Bon Appétit!
We saw this restaurant while we were at the castle up on the hill! We liked the small waterfalls and ricer passing near by the city! So we decided to give it a go! It took about 20 min to get a menu and then another 20 min to get the drinks bad food! The food is nothing special, the beer was cold! The man who took out order was friendly, but the lady who brought our food was not interested at all! Normal price for a local restaurant!

According to my friend who grew up there in the late 1950s and early 1960s, this was "the" place for teenagers to hang out when she was one. Friendly staff now. Wide selection of savory pastries (samosas, empadas, etc.) as well as sweet things. Very good coffee. Inexpensive.

Guided here by one of our group who grew up in Tomar. We went early (7:30 p.m.) in order to get a table, even with a reservation. The place filled up fast on a Monday night. Excellent cooking of traditional Portuguese menu, with enormous portions. Even the "1/2 dose" of some items was enough for two people. Stick with the fish, or the chicken as a fallback. Tasty local wine. Low prices. Friendly service.
