Called today at lunchtime and luckily got the window seat facing the small market on this superb weather day !Place was busy and lots of different ages present as well as cyclists etc.We had panini and toasted sarny plus coffees priced circa £14.These were ok & we were glad to have paid upon order as there seemed quite a queue to pay at the busy counter.We had visited here about a year ago whilst in the area and knew this place to be popular and very good.

We initially went to check out the Pick your own pumpkins, which was a lovely experience. Everybody we encountered were so welcoming and gave us lots of information, as it was our first visit. There was a beautiful selection of pumpkins to choose from and a very large variety of sizes, colours and types. The prices are so reasonable and they even have a measuring box! We even visited the fairy tree which is very quaint and a cute feature, would be fun for kids. We stopped in the cafe after our pumpkin adventure and again it was very warm and welcoming. We only ordered drinks but they were brought to our table. Inside the cafe was beautiful, a very rustic feel. I loved every moment at Spilmans Farm and I shall be returning later in the month for more pumpkins and every year after!

We were walking the Cleveland Way and coming upon High Paradise Farm was a most welcome surprise! We arrived weary, enjoyed some lovely home made soup and scones, sat in the sunny courtyard and generally recharged our batteries.

We called for lunch on a day trip to Thirsk. We sat upstairs in a spacious dining area, which was clean.My husband and I ordered the Fish, Chips and mushy peas, our daughter the Scampi, Chips and mushy peas. All meals were served with slices of bread and butter.Our meals were served quickly and were well cooked and presented. They were very enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Used always to come here and it was great. We havenât been over for a while and I think it must have changed owners because itâs nothing like it was. The service was hopeless, lots of staff not doing much. The waitress got our drinks order all wrong. Then two of our meals arrived but the third one didnât, after thinking it would be coming any minute for 15 minutes, we realised it wasnât, and they had forgotten it completely. By the time it arrived, two of us had finished and the third had to eat alone. We were offered a free cup of tea! Wow. All in all, not very good and overpriced.Anyway, lots of lovely places to choose from and we wonât be coming back to this one.After reading your comments and what I deem to be a grossly unfair condemnation of our cafe, contrary to my morals, I reluctantly felt obliged to reply... I will address the fact (singular, and not plural), raised in your 'review'...Yes, we missed your cheese omelette from the order (we can only offer our sincere apologies......again!). We are only human after all. After realising the omission, we were quick to address the situation (much quicker than the 15 minute claim [I put this down to being a bit of poetic licence to add a touch of gravitas to your 'review'], but alas, I digress), and so, as a means of apology, offered you and your family complimentary drinks (anything from the menu, free of charge), you chose to take us up on our gesture by asking for "a jug of hot water for your tea".............Wow. In addition to this, we rightly gave your order priority over the numerous other orders we had in the kitchen at that time and after your departure, the empty plates and cups hinted that a mutually satisfactory conclusion to this matter had been realised. Although on reflection; your facial expressions, body language and subsequent review should have suggested otherwise.The waitress you refer to, is my business partner and joint manager of our cafe. Your claim that she got the drinks order "all wrong" is certainly not indicative of our recollection of this situation.We are a small, independent cafe located in a small market town in North Yorkshire. We strive for satisfaction by offering what we deem to be good value, honest, homemade food, drinks and cakes served by a hardworking and dynamic team in pleasant and relaxed surroundings. After reading your other Tripadvisor reviews; we can only assume that the individuality and honesty of what we offer at Yorks is something you have not become accustomed to at Toby Carvery and Morrisons. It was unfortunate for us to realise that you chose to be yet another faceless Tripadvisor contributor rather than taking the opportunity to raise your concerns with us whilst at Yorks, our only saving grace is that you have chosen not to return.Regards,Matthew Fowler-Jones
