As my friend is a coffee maniac, we tried hard to find this place, which is/was advertised in a Surin brochure that we picked up in the town hall where we bought the tickets for the elephant round-up.These guys are very professional, the way they serve coffee and cake, as if it was on a Paris boulevard...
Lighthouse Surin is a uniquely designed and eclectic cafe/bar/gastropub. We are a full-service cafe and bar with a cool, stylish and welcoming environment. Kick back and enjoy our comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, impeccable service, delicious food,
good drinks, freshly blended smoothies, comfortable seats, though very limited food menu.. recommendedThank you kindly for taking the time to review our cafe/restaurant. We are very excited to announce that shortly into the New Year we will be launching a brand new, full menu of Gourmet American classics. In addition to new appetizers, desserts and premium beverages. We hope that you will come and visit us again and enjoy our new and improved menus offering some of the best food and drink in beautiful Northeastern Thailand. Daniel J. Stopped at this place after seeing it passing by on the road, nice looking place ,sat on the balcony this is 1 metre high and has no safety rail , if one pushes your chair from the table your over backwards, The coffee was Ok. But service is very bad, The boy on this visit no english spoken, ordered latte came with just black coffee, asked for milk ,sugar and spoon, this took 3 times for it to be correct,Verdict here looks like rich daddy opens for cafe for son after university ,not use again
On a visit to Surin, Thai friends took us to Sit-In Restaurant.I despaired when I looked at the menu. It offers breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. It offers cakes, pastries, sandwiches, coffee, tea and a wide selection of milk shakes. The menu includes Thai and Thai fusion dishes, Western food, including Italian and French, Australian steaks, Vietnamese and Japanese dishes.I thought to myself: "This restaurant is trying to be all things to all people, and is probably not good at any of them".We stuck to the Thai menu and I was pleasantly surprised. We started with Tom Yum Talay, a large bowl of sour and spicy seafood soup. We had Tam Tua Moo Grawp, crispy fried pieces of pork in a bruised snakebean and chili salad.Next was Hor Mok, a popular Thai dish of mixed seafood in a tangy coconut sauce. It is often served baked in a banana leaf parcel, but on this occasion is was cooked in the coconut shell. Finally we shared a plate of boneless snapper filets in a tamarind sauce.Totally pigging out, we finished with an iced Sundae (spelled Sunday on the restaurant menu). The bill for the four of us was Baht 1,350, which considering the amount we ordered, was very reasonable.
