The population was 3,001 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Douglas County and is adjacent to the town of Gardnerville. It was founded in 1906 by Heinrich Friedrich Dangberg Jr., who named it after the town of Minden, in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, which was near his father's birthplace. A large share of the first settlers were Germans. Minden was founded on company land of the Dangberg Home Ranch and Dangberg commissioned most of the town's early buildings. Minden has had a post office since 1906.

My friend suggested this place through Google and it was an amazing start to our day. I got the white chicken chili omelette and we ordered a blueberry pancake to split. It was amazing. The service was friendly and helpful. They have herbal teas and my friend's hot chocolate was amazing! I am lactose intolerant so I only took a sip, but it made me wish I could have more. It is moderately priced, but well worth the money you pay. I would recommend this place as a must visit.

I'm not much of Starbuck fan but my wife is. However, I found this place to be unique and very unlike a typical Starbucks. Great place to stop by after a visit to the 1st Starbucks at Pike Market (about a mile away) This place makes the local Starbucks small and inferior. This is an actual real working coffee roaster for Starbucks Special Roast that is shipped around the country. Service and attention to detail is really good including a very informed and educated staff that is friendly. Not much on the outside, but once you walk in, you feel a sense of awe knowing that this is a special place for coffee lovers. Great varaties of both hot and cold brews as well as a large selection of foods and sweets. Good selection of unique drinks here as well that you can't find in others Starbucks.. So glad wife and i were able to stop in, taste a few coffees and relax.

Ahhmazing..! food is excellent people are warm and friendly & very unusual pretty trailing heart shaped plant almost encircles the restaurant. Thats love! plants love people and happy positive energy places to thrive in. Stop in there! Kids love the hot cocoa too. See you again!

We're local and meet friends here for lunch every Tuesday. This has been our custom for the last two-plus years and we've never had anything that wasn't outstanding. You know you're a regular when Renee knows what you're going to have as soon as you walk in the door! It's your typical small airport cafe with a good menu, whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner. We could easily go somewhere else, but we keep coming back... that should tell you how good it is!

This place is amazing! I can't seem to step away from ordering the K2 sandwich, it is amazing. Lots of gluten free options, including sandwiches! Side salad is delicious too. Be sure to try the blended thai tea! Heads up, closes early and not open for dinner.

Small town, family run restaurant. People you don't know smile and say "Good Morning" and "How are you"? Patrons dining alone sit up along the bar and chat with each other. Food is delicious and plentiful. Had the Huevos Rancheros today and couldn't finish my breakfast, just like every other time I have had breakfast here. Restaurants like this seem to be fewer and fewer - and this one is a gem!
