Return visit with new location much improved. Although Iâve had better tacos and enchiladas elsewhere, I can say these are really freshly and perhaps the lightest served in memory (no regrets later). Guacamole and chips are also a favorite. In retrospect they deserve at least an add â l half star.

Had "take out" for lunch here and it was very good. Chicken sandwich and a salad. I wanted to add quinoa to my salad (which was an option on the board) but they where not sure any had been made at lunch. When they asked the chef he did not know what quinoa was. I thought about slowly backing out of the restaurant as if I had walked into some kind of flashback before quinoa was popular. Nevertheless lunch was delicious.Returned with a party of 8 for dinner a few days later (with reservations). The menu is not extensive but very appealing. Prices are not cheap but being a BYOB they make their money on the food.I ordered the Fried Eggplant Burrata appetizer ($15) and the Premium Reserve Pork Chop ($28) and an order of the Truffle Fries ($7). I also asked about getting a half order of one of the pastas since they looked so good. Being Italian... pasta is like religion. I've got to try it. Waiter said they don't do that. I asked to talk to the owner who knows a friend of mine. The waiter said he would ask him to stop over. He never came and the waiter never acknowledged that they wouldn't accommodate my request. The eggplant app was very good, like a Napoleon. It was crispy with tender cheese and delicious sauce. Very very good. The truffle fries tasted great. But didn't need ketchup on the side. Why ruin the truffle flavour????The pork chop was thick and juicy. A smear of sweet potateo, some apricot and a couple of brussel sprouts but I was left envious of those around me who had pasta.I tried the mushroom pasta ribbons. Good, but the flavours seemed more asian than Italian. I also tried the bucatini pasta which was pretty good. But my heart was still longing for the orecchiette with sausage and broccolini. I went over to the waiter and ordered a whole portion since they didn't deign to sell me a half portion. It was delicious. Even after the pork chop it was not a problem to finish the plate... especially since the chop only came with a smear of stuff.Dessert was a cheese cake made by some local "girl"? We tried it and it was a very good ricotta cheese cake. Light and tasty. Overall this place is a refreshing change to the usual fare on the shore. It's good quality in a hip decor with good food. It's upscale in a beachy way without the pretentiousness of some of the old school Italian restaurants around here.
We loved the excellent breakfasts we've had there and it's especially nice to be sitting right on the edge of the bay while you are eating. The only concern is that the main dining room is up a full flight of stairs without an elevator. There are tables on the first floor but not many & that could be an issue for handicapped people.
I was casually walking down the boardwalk in Seaside Heights when I stumble upon an ice shop but it was Polish Ice. I never heard of such a thing but there they were! I asked the counter person about it being Polish instead of Italian and guess what...she's Polish. There you go. Polish Water Ice. They are on the corner of Kearny on the boardwalk on the north end of the beach next to the sky ride. They had a few flavors but not a ton. I had blue raspberry and red raspberry. Both were very good. Had a small and they gave a good amount for a decent price. And everyone makes jokes about the Polish. HA! There you go...some good ices on a hot day at the beach!

Earlier visit for breakfast was a bust but recent lunch did not disappoint. Ordered grilled cheese with mushroom and onions excelled. While they were out of regular fries, sweet potato fries more than made up. Eat at the counter and you also have access to a real newspaper assuming the Daily News qualifies.

My friend and I visited the Bay View Cafe for lunch and we were absolutely delighted. The food was yummy, the location was fantastic, the outside seating was perfect, and the service was great! Not too pricey, just a lovely location for lunch! I recommend it.
