Located in beautiful New Hope, PA, the River Cat Cafe offers breakfast and lunch options all day. Dine in our bright and airy dining room, or enjoy our outdoor patio. We offer breakfast and lunch fare that is unique and tasty.
I write this today Friday after my first experience with River Cat. 3 adults at 10 am for breakfast. I left underwhelmed. The outside seating was full and the inside had only 3 open tables.I noticed that 80% of tables appeared to be waiting for their food.We waited to even see a server. My daughter went to get menus from counter. We mentioned at this point that one of us had an appointment so we would like to order. Total time in and out was about 90 minutes. I ordered basic eggs, potatoes, bacon (hostess said their bacon was special, to die for) and TOAST.Received meal promptly, no toast until I went to counter and asked for it Water was served in old fashion glasses (Luke warm). Coffee was self serve and excellent but server did not tell us that when she took the order. So where are the Pros and Cons:Pros: Off-street parking, outside seating, great coffee, fair prices.Cons: Somewhat disorganized, slow service, small portions, no Air Conditioning (it was a 90 degree day), bacon ( special coating of Maple and Pepper . ) Did I say breakfast was my favorite meal? Not here I'm afraidHi Terry,Thank you for sharing! I am glad you enjoyed the coffee, and the free parking. You did hit one of our busiest hours when you appeared to be in a hurry. Hope you will give us a second try when you are not as rushed. Thanks again for giving us a try and for your feedback.

From our fresh coffee and seasonal menu, to our comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, to our private event offerings, weâre dedicated to providing a delicious dining experience in our unique, cozy atmosphere.
Second time at this place and they ran out of the menu items. They take reservations so how does that happen. Mushroom soup, not. Pork tenderloin, not. Apple chutney, not. Desert was the only thing that was right. Probably will not return. Service was good though.Norman - we are disappointed to read this review. We have passed your feedback along to our general manager and hope you will reconsider and give us another try in the future.

We are regulars here and enjoy the ambiance, great service while enjoying breakfast or lunch watching the comings and goings on Bridge St. Recommended are the quesadillas (they will make to order and add crab if you wish), and vegetarian burger which is tasty and delicious. They offer dinner every month on the date of the full moon which is an extra bonus. Servings are plentiful and we never leave hungry.

Very small place with homemade type food. The sandwiches we had were tasty, but not much substance to them at all. Not even sure there was a piece of chicken on one half of my sandwich. And for the price paid I canât say that itâs a good value. $11 for a breakfast burrito, really?

Peddlerâs Village was our destination after a stormy and rainy week. It was a beautiful day to walk around The Courtyard Shops and to check out what the FresCafe Food Company offered for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised with our orders. My wife had a Grilled Cheese & Tomato sandwich and I had a Reuben sandwich; both came with a small green salad. Our sandwiches were delicious. This small and narrow café with lots of windows was a nice lunch time experience.

I have been meaning to stop here for a long time. My son and his fiance recommended it to me a year or so ago. Today I made a special trip to Lahaska to have lunch at Chive. My first disappointment was the hot chocolate, they have no whip cream. Then I ordered short rib chili. Sounds delish doesn't it? It came cold, I mean smack from the frig, no one heated it up. Ugh, I took a bite expecting it to be warm and my mouth got coated with a coating of maybe grease from the meat. They took it back and again it was not even luke warm. At that point I didn't want it because my mouth was not happy. Instead I ordered the buttermilk battered chicken sandwich. Can't go wrong with fried chicken now can you? The sandwich was tasty but the chicken was soggy and not crispy. What happened here!!! I won't go back, from start to finish, it was simply not good.
