They always play good music here, blues, soul, rock and roll, jazz and funk - and the crowd are friendly, and very lively. Owners are very genuine and nice people. A old brown bar as they say in the Netherlands. Good beer menu and some snacks. If your tired of stupid kiddy packed bars playing awful music, then try here and you might just like it.

Sandwiched between to brick buildings. Brick walls covered in coffee related machinery, utensils and imagery. Really relaxed and extremely likeable and friendly staff. Best of all, they blend (and roast?) and grind their own 100% Arabica - rich, smooth, rounded and flavourful. Far better than the bigger brands - coffee for grow-ups. If you want lashings of sickly syrups and gooey caramel nestling on fake cream, then go elsewhere; if you want a coffee haven then this is it.

Flinders is by far Hilversums nicest cafe-restaurant. It is located at the most beautiful place of the city next to the museum and church. It has a large terrace and is always busy, vibrant and cozy. You can have great lunch, dinner or just drinks. The ch
A modern café with friendly service and good food. The concept is similar to tapas. The small menu offers a selection of tasty finger foods with delicious flavor combinations. Apart from the "finger food" concept, the menu also has a section with a few mains and side dishes. I took the smoked salmon and avocado tartare, a match made in heaven, which was nicely presented with a perfect ratio of salmon to avocado. Some restaurants serve a salmon tartare mixed with onions, mayo, gherkins and what not which affects the delicate flavors but not this one! The flavors of both the smoked salmon and nicely riped avocado came through beautifully making it a delicious and refreshing dish. The portions are not too big and prices very reasonable. I loved it and I would definitely have dinner there again.

Cafe de Kaars is a great restaurant (and I am actually a bit surprised there are not more reviews) serving original and very tasty food (and also offering live concerts some Fridays and Saturdays). Each month they have a different special all you can eat dish (we went twice in September for the spare ribs that are delicious). Also the salads are very good, and the dishes come served with tasty french fries. The staff is extremely friendly, always smiling and accomodating to every need.Highly recommend.
