My wife and I stopped by Good Life Cafe for dinner while on the road through Columbia. There is a parking garage around the block which was inexpensive in case you can't find parking in front of the restaurant. The cafe is open and inviting. We chose a high-top table. It was a great atmosphere to relax after a long day on the road. We ordered an appetizer of chips and nacho cheese sauce. This was the creamiest, best tasting vegan cheese sauce I've ever had. After a long debate of what to try, I chose the hummus sandwich on onion bread. The onion bread was a hard flatbread. The whole sandwich was so fresh and frankly extraordinary! My wife too throughly enjoyed her meal as well. I would highly recommend Good Life Cafe and look forward to visiting again in the future.
Coffee at the corner of State and Clark. We can't wait to serve you!
Piecewise Coffee Co. is the best new addition to the area. I've longed for a local coffee shop and they don't disappoint! The owner is very friendly and you can tell Piecewise is his pride and joy. The staff is very helpful and all they want is to make you the best cup of coffee they can. My personal drink of choice is a chai latte and there use to only be one coffee shop in town that made a decent chai but Piecewise almost made it perfect! Great atmosphere, lovely people and exceptional drinks!

Enjoyed a quick lunch with my grandson. We thought there would be a long wait, but snagged a table outside. Service was excellent. Food was tasty. Bill was fair. I had shrimp salad and my six year old grandson ordered the roasted chicken salad. Both lunches were yummy. I would definitely return.

Ok, so well worth the wait!! After moving my daughter into the dorm, we had to experience The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli. I had read reviews earlier in May, but missed it being open by about 30 min when visiting then. My sister wasnât all about the wait, but after all was said and done she was just as ecstatic as I for finding this place. This is an absolute gem and Columbia should be so lucky to have Judy, the owner, representing!!! When we arrived Judy was diligently greeting arrivals outside, as well as watchinge the parking lot. One person had blocked the exit and Judy had to find her to alleviate that issue...crazy kids! Then, once we were in the door, more of a wait to order at the counter. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed and the wait will simply be forgotten as you munch on fabulous sandwiches, wonderful homemade soups, and little pita chips!! Did I not mention the scrumptious cinnamon buns??!! Judy actually brought an extra to our table with some bourbon sauce to try, and boy was it grand!!! Definitely trying a mixed variety on the next visit!! We ordered a dozen to go to take to our 87 year old mother who was an expert cinnamon bun maker in her day and other family members. We knew our mother would be so impressed with our find! : ). Judy was very busy taking care of everyone in the dining area, but took the time to chat with us. I explained my husband was working in the area and was supposed to meet us for lunch, but was running late. She said if he was going to be arriving late she would hold lunch for him. What an incredibly sweet gesture!!! You donât get this kind of service most places these days!!! Kudos, Judy!!! You have new found followers and we sing your praises to everyone!! You are the epitome of what owners should be doing to keep happy, returning patrons. You do it right!!!

Restored 1920's era building. Eclectic decor that supports the local art community. 1
This was my first visit to Cafe Strudel, but it won't be my last. This place is loaded with personality and has a very friendly vibe. We got very good food and service and had lots of fun. It was trivia night (Thursday), so the place was packed and the noise level was very high. The beer list is quite diversified here and the drafts are inexpensive; my pint of Palmetto Idle Speed cost just three bucks. The food is similarly affordable. I ordered a Cuban ($9.95) and my wife had a Congaree Salad plate ($9.75). Both were delicious.
