The Freed Man is a comfy and relaxed Micro Pub in Walmer. Reclaimed wood clads the walls and many salvaged items from our nearby beach can be found throughout. We serve a great and ever changing selection of ales, wine, some cider and even a few spirits! We are lucky enough to have charming and friendly local clientele. Please visit us and make yourselves at home!
Very friendly micro pub. Staff & customers very talkative. They were serving 3 Kent ales & a really good cider. Tables were socially distanced & there was a screen between 2 of the tables. Hand sanitizer on all tables. Felt very safe. Dogs allowed. It was so good my husband went there 3 times

Open the door to this charming Tudor castle by the sea. Explore eight acres of magnificent gardens, woodland, and sea views. Explore the castle with the new multimedia guide, and come and see the original Wellington Boots. Take time to relax in the tearoom too and enjoy the food using produce from the gardens.
Fantastically historical castle (complete with Wellington boots!), a delightful woodland walk with the new ‘Glen’ walk in an old chalk quarry and a peaceful walled garden designed for the Queen Mother. Ideal for history aficionados and those who like to ramble through woods. Altogether a very interesting place. Do make use of the audio guide available...

A lovely, long pebble beach that is just great to walk along, especially in the early evening sunshine. It is wide open and quiet (well it was when we went) so there's no chance of not being able to social distance.

The Berry is a family run free house, that specialises in Real Ale, Real Cider and Craft Beer. We have up to 11 Real Ales, 7 Craft Beers and 10 Real Ciders on at any time and have won numerous CAMRA awards, including Kent Pub of The Year (2013) and Kent Cider Pub of The Year (2010, 2013 & 2016), since we took over 13 years ago. A traditional style pub that has a pool table, dart board and coal fire. Bar snacks such as crisps, nuts and pork scratching are available too.
We LOVE this pub, it sells a large variety of real ales (hubby happy), sensibly priced spirits (me happy) the staff are great and Chris is just lovely. We come to Deal about once a year and can always guarantee a warm welcome at the Berry, it's nice when Chris says "Do you want your usual?" when he hasn't seen me for 12 months! It's full of locals who are so friendly and I can't wait to go back next year...........cheers!

This traditional paddling pool has a very attractive setting on the Walmer Green surrounded by lawns and next to the beach. Young families travel for miles to take advantage of the free facilities. The pool has qualified lifeguards, a refreshment kiosk serving hot and cold snacks all day, changing rooms and toilets, and deck chairs for hire. Adjacent to the pool is a putting green, a play area with large children's games and a bouncy castle.

The Lighthouse is a new music and arts pub situated on the East coast of Kent seafront. We strive to bring you an eclectic mix of music and creative events, hosting amazing artists from around the country and beyond. The Lighthouse is proud to support and serve refreshments from local breweries. A fine selection of ales and cider cultivated from local ingredients and by passionate craftspeople.
Visited The Lighthouse for the first time, due to attending a music night with the Katie Bradley band. The pub is a lively, friendly pub with attentive staff and a well stocked bar. The music area is roughly half of the pub, which also gives a good viewing area and good acoustics. Whilst we visited in January, I am sure it makes a great pub for the summer months/evenings. Would definitely visit again, great pub.
