Portland Head Light

Maine's oldest lighthouse - and one of the most picturesque and most frequently photographed in the U.S. - has been in operation since 1791. Although it is closed to the public, you can stop by the adjacent museum, enjoy the grounds which include a beach, lawns and picnic areas and view boats entering and leaving the harbor.

Amazing experience on a gorgeous day! We also spent the couple of bucks to see the museum which had some great exhibits on the history of the light house - Even my teenager had a great time and he hates museums!!

Two Lights State Park

This is an amazing state park. As I was paying my $7 out of state fee, the young guy at the gate almost talked me out of coming in. “No place to swim and no lighthouse or lighthouse view”. He failed to mention the sweeping views of the Atlantic unlike any other ive seen. The views are absolutely the most amazing. Bring a picnic lunch as there are many amazing places to sit and eat - there are even bbqs available!! Wear sturdy walking shoes so you can get down on the rocks, a camera to share pics with your friends, and lotsa time to just wander, sit, reflect and enjoy!

Cape Elizabeth Light

Reviewed By bhink0506 - Medford, United States

Cape Elizabeth Lighthouse and the nearby walking trails are a beautiful area to explore or just take a walk for an hour or two during the day. People can access the rocks along the coast to take pictures and enjoy the scenery. There was a food truck stationed there, too, with lobster rolls and other lunch options.
