A really warm welcome awaited my husband and I when we arrived at 'The Cottage', Rushlake Green, the lovely home of Karen and Jim. Delightful B&B in their beautiful cottage. Lovely decor with antiques and charming object d'art. Local 15 Century Inn across the village Green which serves excellent food.

Try to picture a dream image of a cottage set into the intense greenery of manicured farmland, on a property with a duck pond (and ducks!) visible from your window and, beyond that, the proverbial sheep in the meadow. The proprietress, Trish, could not be more welcoming and considerate. Standard at breakfast is the freshest fruit with the creamiest yogurt, toast, a selection of dry cereals, and coffee-press coffee. You can request anything from a full English breakfast to pancakes or kippers. The two rooms and their bathrooms are very large. Showering is via an attachment in the tub. Hot water is plentiful. The living room is very comfortable with a complimentary selection of wine, spirits and liqueurs available for your relaxation. There is a short flight of stairs. Trish's husband, Geoff is the good natured "toast and coffee" guy and also treated us to a demonstration of his venerable compressed air driven wagon-sized hurdy gurdy that he displays and plays at public events. There are a half dozen pubs within a five minute drive, with the nearest -- The Black Duck -- outshining the others we visited.

This is a B & B with a difference! Your hosts really look after you, and give you magnificent breakfasts. There is plenty of parking and a lovely big garden to sit in. Absolutely no noise or light pollution here.

Thimbles is a large family home set in 6 acres. We have an orchard where our rare breed chickens live, a substantial collection of roses , a large lake with an island. You can fish or go out for a row in our boat. We have a beautiful kitchen garden and numerous herbaceous borders. Our special breakfasts include home made bread, home dry cured and oak smoked bacon (from our own rare breed pigs), hand made sausages and our own free range eggs. Come and taste and experience "the good life".!
Beautiful house in a lovely location - extremely stylish and very comfortable - truly magical gardens. Vicki and Simon were so kind and welcoming. We had two wonderful days there and certainly hope to return very soon.

WelcomeThe May Garland Inn in Horam near Heathfield is a traditional family run inn with comfortable modern ensuite bedrooms which offers great Bed and Breakfast accommodation as well as serving great local food freshly cooked in our kitchen together with fine wines and great beer. We have loads of outdoor space including an enclosed children's play area and a solid oak veranda.
I looked for a decent B&B and I found this place. The bar area was ok but when I was being taken down the dirty carpeted corridor the young lady opened the room and told me that no food was available because of staffing and they could offer me some leaflets of takeaways. On inspection of the room, the shower was disgusting, someone had used the toilet. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed id ever laid on. The traffic noise was horrendous. As I lay on the bed I started to itch so I packed up and left. The person I booked this through was a very nice guy but he just books this awful B & B. I would never recommend this place.
