Owners David Slaughter and Jeremy Edwards plan to expand their part-time covered seating BBQ trailer into a full-time business by January 2019 (telephone 903-217-8567 and e-mail [email protected]). The BBQ Oasis is currently open Saturday mornings from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with breakfast tacos served at 7:00 a.m. and BBQ starting at 10:00 a.m. The BBQ Oasis is located in the parking lot of the Fix & Feed hardware store, on Gilmer Street (Texas Highway 154), north of Interstate Highway 20.We arrived last Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. for breakfast tacos, and ordered the Texas Trinity (pork ribs, brisket, and sausage). After shopping in the Fix and Feed hardware store, we returned to receive and eat our three meat plate. We ordered some pulled pork to go.Co-owner has refined his BBQ rub and sauce in BBQ competitions. The pork ribs and brisket are worthy of a Texas Monthly Magazine BBQ List rating of 4.5 on a 5.0 scale and competitive with the East Texas BBQ anchors: Stanley's Famous BBQ in Tyler; and the original (across from LeTourneau University on the west side of Longview) Bodacious BBQ.Ask for the brisket burnt ends - not yet on the menu.

Visited here with family while visiting grandma in a nearby nursing home. Had a great, reasonably priced lunch. Right on Church St just north of downtown, easy to miss as it's an old filling station. Noticed quite a few folks coming in getting BBQ to go for holiday meal.

Soulman's BBQ opened a couple of weeks ago across the street from AutoZone and Walgreens. It's is some of the better BBQ in Sulphur Springs, in my opinion. You walk through the line and order what you want. Then you serve your own sides and desert, if you want them. Next, you pay for your meal, then pick a table and eat. You refill your own drinks, however they do bus your table when you are finished. Soft serve ice cream is available, if you want some. I've had the brisket and turkey, both were good, though they are not in the Texas top 50 BBQ places. Their fried okra was excellent and their french fries and mac and cheese are both good.Price wise, they are probably a little more expensive than most BBQ places in town. You can plan on spending between $10 and $18, depending on exactly what you order. I am sure some people will eat cheaper, and others will spend more.

We decided to give this restaurant a try. Lots of cars in the parking lot and lots of people inside gave the impression of a popular place with great food. While we had great service--no complaints there at all, and the place was very busy, the food didn't meet expectations. The catfish was small pieces and was just so-so. The sauce for the coconut shrimp wasn't good at all. The coconut shrimp was nothing to write home about. Prices were okay, but we won't eat here again.

Ate at their new location with some local friends while fishing at Lake Fork. Down home friendly atmosphere and great service. Had the 1/2 rack pork ribs and a brisket taco. The ribs were awesome and a 1/2 rack was more than enough...had some left over for lunch the next day. Overall a pretty decent BBQ spot worth a try.

We stopped in on our road trip because we love bbq's. The reviews looked relatively good except recent ones. The place was clean and only one couple. No real atmosphere but some license plates from lots of states. When we ordered a man (owner?) said this young lady would help us. Unfortunately, he kept butting in and each time the order, the girl, and ourselves got confused. Then he backed off and we got our order. The 3 piece sampler had sausage which lacked flavor and could have come from a local supermarket, the turkey was the same, and the chopped brisket was o.k. They only had two sauces which always make the finishing touches good. Even the bread was two slices of white bread. Not creative or really worth the visit. Sorry
