Were here with husband to celebrate a special day. Waitres was perfunctory, and started by announcing that she would “let us look at the menus”. My duck breast was slightly overcooked and chewy with gristle, and my side dish never showed-up. Not until after we had finished our entrees did she finally appear. But the real problem came later. Once back home, both my husband and I experienced nausea and diarrhea for the next 48h! Needles to say, we will not be back! We're sorry to hear you had this experience. I am a little confused though as clearly you came for dinner which is the only time we serve duck. During dinner service i personally visit every table multiple times to make sure everything is satisfactory so i'm confused as to why you didnt mention to me if your sides didnt arrive or if your duck was not satisfactory, at Lone Star BBQ we have a policy that if its not awesome its free and i would have happily taken your duck off the check and offered you an alternative if you didnt like it. I'm sorry to hear you had an upset stomach, however all of our meats are cooked fresh everyday for several hours and as you yourself said it was overcooked so bacterial contamination is unlikely. Most cases of food poisoning take 12-24 hours to appear after eating infected food so perhaps it was something you'd had earlier in the day. Also being from the united states i was trained and certified in food safety and teach my staff the same standards.

We went here after reading the many excellent reviews. The location and atmosphere are just lovely. Service is delightful and the trainees make every effort to get it right, which they did every time.I booked for 8.30pm and we arrived 10 minutes early. A good musician was playing guitar and singing but he packed up and disappeared at 8.30! The 2 other customers left shortly afterwards and no more arrived, so we were alone in an eerily quiet restaurant! The corn somtam was great, as were the kale and veg fried rice and all were reasonably priced for a place of this quality and location. However, the jumbo prawn was disappointing. We asked for enough for 2 and we were shown one which they said would be fine. When cooked and split in two, it was really quite insufficient for even the modest appetites of two 70+ year olds. At 800 baht, we feel this was ludicrously expensive. The flavour too was much inferior to those we have enjoyed previously both at Ayutthaya and Nong Khai. I note they say on their website that they are imported. Finally the house wine was just about ok but well overpriced at 190 baht for only half a glass. There is FAR better quality in town for 120-150 baht for a full glass! So, this place has many plus points but for us these were overshadowed by serious overpricing on some items. Dear John, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and we are glad you enjoyed dining with us overall except for your experience with our Signature Jumbo Prawns and our wine. Our house pour wines are measured and served to industry standards accordingly and the explanation below should give you a better understanding of why the Jumbo Prawns are pricey but why we still eat them although they have so little meat!In Thailand, giant freshwater river prawns are highly sought after – it is considered a delicacy and a prestigious food that is something nearly all Thais would love to eat. These giant prawns are an expensive treat that are a rare source of indulgence and they are now gracing the plates of gourmands around the region. As these giant prawns are really big-headed, there is relatively little meat for the size of the prawn. Instead, the real treasure lies within the head. The yellow orange blob of butter-looking thing in the head is what eating these prawns are all about! Almost like shrimp butter, creamy and rich with a taste and flavour that is out of this world. The lucky ones who have had a chance to eat these prawns have said that putting a spoonful of this shrimp butter into the mouth was life changing!Best Regards,K-Lin Lim

I went looking and found this little place not far from my home, Walked in and was surprised to see 2 friends dining there too, I joined them for lunch. They both had hamburgers, with fries and salad, and vere very happy with the quality and price, I started with 8 large New Zealand mussels, with grilled cheese, piping hot, to the table and only 125 baht (less that $4.00, US) I then had a tender chicken breast with a Caesar salad, 125 baht. Went back a second time with different friends, had the Hamburger fries and salad, my friend had pork ribs and salad, and a Tuna salad, all was very good. The place is quite small, however bright and welcoming, the owner Tanya, a lovely Thai lady, looked after us, with a very pleasant manner, and a great Thai smile.I will make this little Cafe, one of my lunch spots for sure, nice decor, plenty of parking opposite.

My wife, my kid and I had a memorable 5 nights staying at this countryside property located in Doi Saket district of Chiang Mai. In there, you enjoy all the moment that gives you the feeling of calm and peaceful. If you live in the city for long why not taking a short visit to this country resort. Especially if you are currently in work, your work makes you plan, plan, or being planed every day. But when it comes to holidays, staying at such a beautiful resort you will just be relaxed, do nothing and plan as little possible and not to worry a things. There are some distance between down town and the resort and so as from the international airport, about 45 minutes drive, more or less. It is not far though when you are talking about countryside. I like to personally thank to James and his wife for their hospitality and also to the staffing who served us breakfasts at the Tara every morning, made tide to our room, setting up the facilities every time when we walked inside the pool area. All of them are good peoples, friendly and being helpful. I will treat James and his family "yum cha" if in the occasion they come over to Hong Kong. I wish them best of luck, healthy and happiness as always.
