Things to do in Sauraha
River park Retreat is a place to relax and spend time with friends. We have a great open space for socializing directly at the river and a view onto the forest. In the evenings we enjoy the amazing sunset which settles just opposite to our chill out area.
We happened upon this place on an afternoon walk, we stayed way past sunset. It may not look like much from the street, but as you approach you see the river flowing by and lounge chairs. It was great to watch the local children play in the rivers and the stars come out at night. It was far enough outside of town to be able to relax and close enough to walk (turn at the elephant). We watched the elephants bathe from afar. Drinks were pretty cheap and french fried chips were great. Servers were very kind and helpful!

We had burgers which were alright and the chicken sizzler which came with tasteless spaghetti. The food arrived after over an hour and the drinks even after that. Very strange. The whole staff seemed uncoordinated and overstrained, however they were super nice. Definitely trying to avoid such a place in the future.

This is positioned in a few steps from the Rapti River by offering the closest Sunset views with beautiful lounge and banquet facilities, a unique setting in the heart of Sauraha, an enthralling place. Our seating offers a truly comfortable and acceptable
A good place to unwind at the end of the day. You can actually sit at the bank of the river and order food and drinks from here. We ordered some momos and beer and watched the sunset over the river. The momo was good and the beer was served chilled, so no complaints. The service is good with polite and efficient waiters.

Was ok and had a fresh fruit juice and pancakes. Pancakes were pretty good and fruit juice tasted ok, although the brown concoction we received didn't look like much like the one advertised on the menu. If you want good food and better atmosphere I'd recommend just going to friends cafe on the other side of the elephant statue.
