Reviews on Bar food in San Gimignano, Province of Siena, Italy. San Gimignano, known as the "city of beautiful towers," had 72 towers in its heyday. Now 14 remain, and, rising above Tuscany's Elsa Valley, they make the town look like a medieval dreamscape. Take in the fresco-covered Collegiate Church, the Civic Museum and the views from atop 177-foot Torre Grossa. Daytrippers from Florence tend to fill up the streets during the day, so for a more up-close-and-personal look at the town, spend the night.

Stopped here for lunch yesterday. This place is perfectly placed in the square opposite the Church, you often see the wedding photos being taken in the square. They are always busy, but you are always greeted with a warm welcome. The owners are very sociable and will always make time to chat. They have a great menu for snacks and meals. Our food was all prepared fresh and tasted delicious. They also do lovely coffee and teas. They have some excellent wines at very reasonable prices. This is a great family run bar, well worth a visit. Seating is inside and outside.

Had drinks here last night. Inn the main square of the town well positioned. There is seating outside and inside. Nice heaters if your outside and it is a bit cold. They have a good snack and pasta menu. We just had drinks and ice cream. We sat inside, they had a TV screen with music and news playing. Very friendly service, good wine list comfortable seating inside. They are attached to the hotel Cisterna.

We have visited the restaurant as it was close to our accommodation but the experience was very bad. Empty restaurant with almost all empty tables but the lady refused to give us any table claiming everything has been reserved. There were no reservations signs on the tables and the tables on the terrace were dirty. 6 waitresses at the bar and no one came in a very long time to serve us. We have left at the end without being even approached by the waiter. Very disappointing service and I would not recommend to anyone to go there. Dear, just a question: do you really feel the need to show everybody what your brain is able to give birth? Wow! We manage our restaurants from more than 30 years and, luckily, we have the opportunity to travel around the world, more or less like you. Probably we are strange people! We never complain when we found a completely reserved restaurant, never. The answer is easy, we never found nobody able to built a new table in less tha 30 minutes and we understand it. In those cases we greeted and thanked. Just to explain you what your brain is not able to understand: there is a period of about 1-1,5 hours during with the staff changes, waiters who worked iìduring lunch-time leave and new guys start. Thatâs non so difficult to understand. In our case, during that period, after more that 4 hours of service and before the dinner and after dinner time (more that 8 hours, just to knowâ¦) we stop the service in order to organize the staff and to clean the whole location. Thatâs not so strange to find not arranged tables during that, the service is stopped, also for you mylord! Self-cleaning tables weren't invented yet, I suggest you think about it, you could make you a lot of money.Anyway, thank you so much to inform everybody that in our place is not possible to eat when the service is closed. Thank you so much, you will so helpful for people who donât understand this inconceivable concept. Please, excuse me if I only respond to you and not to your spouse but it is really too hard for me.

On our way to San Gimignano, my husband and I wanted a genuine local restaurant for a late lunch that wouldn't be really expensive. We didn't see any all of the way from Radda to Grieve to (almost) San Gimignano. This is a gem. It's a well run family business with reasonable food that tastes great! We had the spaghetti with bolognese sauce, my husband had another local pasta with Alfredo and peppers...and the Tiramisu--GREAT with espresso. We had 1/4 liter of wine, app, 2 pastas, water, 2 espressos and a tiramisu. 32 euro and happy to tip a bunch. Go there, enjoy yourself and do the same!

A wonderful winebar, with more than 20 different wine by the glass, where we also serve food, cold cuts, cheeses and bruschette, all made with typical products of the area.
On a recent trip through San Gimignano, we happened upon this delightful restaurant. Although the restaurant itself is beautiful, it was quite empty except for the Prep area and the waitresses.Everyone was soaking up the magnificent sun along the walkway outside, where they had set up table and chairs facing the view! And what a view! Certainly one of the most memorable in Tuscany. We enjoyed a salad and a Bruschetta and some wine, all very reasonably priced, served quickly and beautifully, and thoroughly enjoyed the October sun and the the gorgeous day.Highly recommended!
