Reviews on Bar food in Parys, Free State, South Africa. Parys (pronounced /ˈpɑːreɪs/) is a town situated on the banks of the Vaal River in the Free State province of South Africa. The name of the town is the Afrikaans translation of Paris. The name was given by a German surveyor named Schilbach who had participated in the Siege of Paris during the Franco-Prussian War and the location next to the Vaal reminded him of Paris on the River Seine. The area of Parys also includes the two townships Tumahole and Schonkenville.

Group outing on a Wednesday. Upstairs airy open space. Smokers haven. Breakfast was good, so to service. Food mostly inexpensive, found the coffee blend for cuppachino untasteful. Off street parking at the rear a bonus.
We spent a weekend in Parys and had lunch at Legends, we had an assortment of pub-styled food, the food and service was great and exactly what we needed to regroup after a long walk shopping and browsing through to town.

They have some issue with either a food or liquor licence, so we couldnât get a drink before 10am, and we didnât want to eat a meal, but when we returned a bit later, we had a beer and a cider. Both were reasonably priced, especially the beer.Very impressed with the buttons on the table that allows you to communicate with your waiter.I can see myself spending a few hours there drinking a few drinks. Very nice vibe.

The setting is lovely, couches are super comfy, and Fig the cat is wonderfully friendly. I'm not a huge beer fan but the Ginger Blaze beer cocktail was delicious! I also bought some of theale and stout to take home. A pity we had to leave before the live music started.

Visit Parys quite often. Went to Jimmy Jaggers for lunch. Great selection of dishes on menu. Had a steak. Perfectly prepared. Service was efficient.
