The Seychelles largest and main island, Mahe is home to the capital of Victoria and about 70,000 people (almost 90% of the nation's total). So I recently submitted a review for Club Liberte and mentioned that they had a restaurant that I’d like to come back and try - this is it.I found this little restaurant by accident when I visited the casino for a little guilty pleasure of mine. Had a great time then, so I convinced a colleague of mine to come with me for dinner at 5 Spices restaurant at Club Liberte which the staff had told me so much about! Apparently the best sushi on Mahe!!They did not disappoint. The menu is very cosmopolitan - the al le Carter dishes reflect various cuisines from around the globe, french, turkish, Indian to name a few but they also have a separate, very good sushi menu. My colleague and I both had sushi starters - I had the Tuna Poke bowl and she had the Spicy crunchy tuna. Whilst she assures me the Tuna was delicious, I doubt it beat my tuna poke bowl - man, the chef is a genius. Absolutely amazing! We both had fish for mains - snapper - which was very very good and I pigged out by finishing with a Turkish coffee infused panna cotta which was awesome. As I have said before, the staff here are exceptional and work hard to make sure we had everything on time. Even the GM got involved when he came over to introduce himself and see that everything was OK - he ended up ‘bussing’ our table and took away empty plates .. you don’t often see that!!If I have one criticism is that it felt a little open as you sit in the restaurant - maybe they can put up some plants in walk way just to shield diners from casino and people passing down walk way to rest rooms. Other than that, I heartily recommend this and will come back again before I leave.Dear SirThank you for the well written, concise review, which is not only positive and helpful feedback for us, but excellent advice to fellow travellers.Your comment on the restaurant area being too open is also very helpful and we will look into ways to make the area a little more private and shielded from the flow of traffic to the toilets.Though I am not on the island at the moment, our GM is and if you present yourself to him, I am sure he will be happy to offer you a complimentary drink.Once again my thanks for the relevant reviewJake

This is a very warm place tucked in a corner very easy to miss. It's in beau vallon just before the savoy resort. Had the veg curry with rice and salad and it was splendid. They played good music too. Got to know it's a new restaurant so there was not much crowd but I am sure it will pick up once the word spreads. Must go to place if you are in town searching for good food. It's slightly on the expensive side but worth a visit. Best part they are open till 10pm.

Nice bar for chilling at and having a few drinks or a meal after being at the beach. The views are nice too especially around sunset. The food was ok - I had a steak which was just alright. Unfortunately the place is let down by the terrible service. One of the young girls had a really bad attitude and kept slamming things down on our table, tutting and sighing and very reluctant to take food orders. Service definitely needs to be improved.Dear Belfastguy, thank you for your kind feedback. I am sorry to hear about your disappointment. We have taken your feedback serious and made some structural amendments to ensure this is an isolated incident.I hope to welcome you again in the future as our valued guest.Kind regards,Tina WolfFood & Beverage Manager

Had dinner here one evening and pre dinner drinks another. Ibiza cool style bar/restaurant with really friendly staff. Mixed menu of international and Spanish/Mexican dishes with good drinks list. Bar located on boardwalk in front of and part of Savoy hotel opposite Beau Vallon beach. Good spicy prawn starter and excellent steak (cooking and flavour). On first night also a superb DJ with brilliant mix of 80’s - 2000’s music and mixes. Really nice location for pre and post dinner drinks as well as lunch/dinner.

We shared a Seafood Parrillada main course (selections of seafood) and a seared tuna main course and enjoyed both very much. A down side for us was the seating on the veranda. Whilst it was pleasant to sit outside, the seating is a little uncomfortable and does not suit the table height! The beers are way above average price, SCR172 for a 500ml. draught & when you consider that they add on 10% service plus 15% VAT (not included in the menu price) it makes the experience really expensive. Restaurants outside of resorts include the VAT into the menu price & do not charge for service.Dear tonyandelaine,Thank you so much for your review,I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the food and will definitely share you comments with the ream.As for the Pricing, I do understand as Seychelles can become a bit pricey, so we make sure we keep in line with the same category establishments.I will be sure to give through your comments on the furniture and pricing as your comments are very important to us.Please do come and visit us again.Hope to welcome you back again soon.Kind regards,Melissa
