After fairybread and cake at a 1st birthday party we decided to have dinner in an unfamiliar location. We chose the St George Motor Boat Club primarily because of its location. We enjoyed drinks while watching a sunset overlooking the Marina on the Georges River. Afterwards we adjourned to their in house restaurant: The Edge.Entrees of calamari and baby squid were followed by Angus Burgers and a half serve of ribs. Delicious.

Most of our group tried the Tuesday night specials. The ads say "from $10" - this covers the schnitzel and fish but the steaks were $12. Three of us had the steaks, one had schnitzel and another had fish (battered flathead). Everyone was happy with what they had and considered the specials to be great value (see pics). We sat at a high bench table with 3 bar stools on each side. Comfortable enough while seated but if one person wants to get out you have to "unpack" from one side making it rather awkward (something like flying economy when the person with the window seat needs to go to the loo). Unless you have super long legs it might be more convenient to try a different type of table (there were other choices).

Hubby and I went here for dinner on Saturday night, we didn't have a table booked but the maitre d' enticed us in out of the cold and got us a table straight away, although the restaurant was almost full. We had salt & pepper calamari for an entree and garlic prawns for a main, a wine and beer. Service was excellent, the food was great and the price was exceptional. Our 18 year old son had recommended Neptunes and we were impressed and will definitely be back. :)

We come to the Beverly Hills Hotel reasonably often. Another new menu which is really just basic pub food. Itâs not bad but itâs not amazing either. Itâs not exciting. In the middle of the Beverly Hills food strip it needs to be outstanding for us to come back. This was okay not great. The Reuben sandwich needed balance - a nice mustard or something to cut through the vinegar. The parmi wasnât a parmi as there was no bacon or ham. Overall average.

A last minute decision for a casual meal with the family and it turned out to be awesome. Itâs probably the quality of the meals that was so impressive, my steak was memorable, the best Iâve had in a long time and followed up with the nut pie. Such a great night...everyone was impressed

I ordered a drink, which was way over priced, from a French Waiter who was not only arrogant but questioned if I had ordered. After going through the till he realised he hadnât poured the drink. When I received the drink there was no apology for the 10 minutes wait but he instead I received half a glass of wine.
