Usually have live music. Attentive wait staff. Menu is good as are prices. Recommend the Shrimp pancake. The Eisbein was superb - perfectly cooked. There is also a local market in the garden on Saturday mornings.

Last night, on the prowl for some live music in Clarens and somewhere out of the cold, we were recommended by a local to try out 'Friends Restaurant & Pub'. Huge burgers (and I mean huge), live music by a band called Slipstream, affordable drinks and friendly service by our barman JP made our experience well worth the walk. We had a lot of fun last night!*Recommendation: If you are looking for fine dining, 'Friends' is not for you, but for everything else (and one of the most festive vibes in town), it is definitely worth a visit!

For over 10 years a family run pub and restaurant. Great menu. Live music venue over weekends. Very well locally supported as well as our wonderful regular weekend 'local' visitors. Check our Facebook page for updates on food and drink specials as well as
BUT disappointed that the music did not carry through to the whole restaurant - felt that the speakers should be connected in order for all patrons to enjoy the music. That being said, it really was a pleasant little spot. Excellent service and great waitron, great, wholesome food (the pot pies, oxtail and lamb shank were ordered in our group) and they were all excellent.Enjoyable besides the point already mentioned above.

German style restaurant with amazing meals,a lot of different beers to choose from and friendly and helpful staff. The view is spectacular and well worth a visit if in Clarens for a day or two.
We popped in for drinks before trekking through the various Clarens shops. The range of beers, the variety offered in terms of the German menu and the amazing delicacies offered in the front of the store make this a must visit. Moreover, the great views over the Clarens valley is a real bonus. Great atmosphere.

Luckily we booked in advance and managed to get a table. The restaurant was fully booked. We had to wait a bit longer for the food. Otherwise, the food was good and it was great to go there. Most of the restaurants close early in Clarens. It's better to book in advance for dinner.

On-site micro brewery and distillery offering great craft beers, ciders and gin in fun, industrial setting. Food menu is mainly finger food - think platters of sausages, delicious hams and salami, cheese, local bakery bread.
Th Clarens brewery has a wide variety of their own beers and other drinks. It is friendly and the atmosphere is really special at sun downer time
