I've lived in Cedarburg for 10 years and used to order the cod beer-battered fish fry at Maxwells because it was so good-it has this flaky, airy breading with fall apart fish; however I have not ordered it in about a year. Tonight, I ordered the same fish fry and it is not the same at all. The fish now resemble the chicken tenders. The fish is literally coated in oil from being deep fried too long or something. I held my piece of fih up to my son's chicken tender and could not tell the difference. I could only eat one piece before my stomach told me to stop. My husband actually took the fish back stating this wasn't the fish fry I ordered, and the wait staff told him this was the only fish fry they had. Very disappointing, as I will not be ordering the fish fry anymore. I am surprised regular customer are not complaining more about this issue.

Just stopped by early to have a drink and found it to be a friendly place to just hang out for awhile. Very nice people. We were there too early for the evening meal but they were preparing everything from scratch and menu sounded good.

It's not just about the beer, they have great sandwiches and soups also, plus a lot more!! It's eclectic enough for any age group. You could spend a few hours just looking at all the "stuff" hung on the walls and ceiling. A casual fun stop for your stay in Cedarburg.

Outstanding food. We were shopping in Cedarburg around lunchtime and stopped in The Anvil Pub and Grille. I ordered the Blacksmith burger and my husband ordered the BLTC. Both came with fries and a pickle. The burger tasted like it came off a charcoal grill - absolutely delicious. The BLTC was outstanding. It was wrapped in what looked like a flatbread instead of toast. Probably the best BLT Iâve ever tasted. Nice atmosphere.

A very cute place along the river. There was outside seating available, we sat along the street to people watch. Next time we will try to sit along the river. Service was great. Their French dip was good and the hot giardiniera was HOT! Along with fries and a beer, couldn't ask for more...Thanks KenoshaKathy! We are happy to hear that you had a great time and hope you will be back soon!
