We love this place! They have a great range of cocktails and top shelf spirits. I'd recommend the champagne cocktails and the French martini - delish! The staff are friendly and accommodating. The bar is located in the historic Carrington Hotel so you're surrounded by old world charm! Highly recommended.

With sandstone steps at the entrance, you do feel a little like you have stepped back in time when entering the pub.Ask the barmaid about the laundry shoot ghost if you are interested in a little history.

We came in here on a busy Saturday night. The atmosphere is great and the food is even better! I had the Mexican burger which was fabulous and my partner had the pork tacos which were also good. The only let down is the staff, one of which was quite rude and swearing quite loud and frequently. Overall, it was a a good pub feed and I would go back.

Ambermere Inn offers a menu focused on rediscovering old traditions. It reflects the history of the Inn playing homage to the local grower, brewer, winemaker and what is available seasonally. Enjoy a casual eating experience in the Bistro or during the wa
I used to love Ambermere. I had been there for their 3 course long lunch with my partner and had the best time. It was so good I bought my parents a voucher off Red Balloon for Christmas. They don't get out much as they both have disabilities and also care for my disabled brother, so a lunch like this is a luxurious treat that they wouldn't normally experience. Despite purchasing the voucher just before Christmas, my parents were unable to redeem this as Ambermere closed for renovations in December. Disappointing but we figured they would be able to use the voucher when they reopened. Unfortunately Ambermere are refusing to honour the voucher and have refused all responsibility despite being the ones offering this voucher knowing they were closing for 6 months and would not be accepting these vouchers upon reopening. It is ethically wrong. They have instead told us to contact Red Balloon and get a different experience. Unfortunately with my parents mobility issues, inability to travel far and caring responsibilities, there is no other experience they could do that we can find, so the money is lost. The attitude of Ambermere when contacted has taken a disappointing experience and turned it into an extremely stressful and negative experience. No apologies. No explanation as to why they were still selling the voucher. Just a flat out refusal to honour it and not their problem. Brilliant customer service, right? Bravo. They also still had the audacity to expect my parents to dine there but at their own cost... after that experience? Baffling. According to Red Balloon "In respect of services it is the independent Experience Providers who provides the experience to you following the redemption of an experience voucher. The independent Experience Providers accepts responsibility for compliance with the Australian Consumer Law in respect of services, that is that the experience was provided with due skill and care and complied with the description made to the purchaser at the time of sale. RedBalloon is not the provider of the experience; see part 11 Providers of Experiences." So here we have Ambermere refusing responsibility and Red Balloon saying it is the responsibility of the service provider under Consumer Law. No refund available. I feel terrible I gave such an awful gift and will never give a voucher again. My partner and I will also never return to Ambermere, as the attitude was downright rude and immoral (not to mention illegal under consumer law). I would be extremely interested as to how many other people purchased these vouchers and are now out of pocket due to this restaurant selling a product that will not provide. Hi,It is disappointing that you did not contact us directly to allow us the opportunity to talk in more detail about your voucher that you purchased through Redballoon. This would have allowed us to explain how Redballoon vouchers work and talk through some solutions with you without being lost in interpretation as these forms of platforms sometimes can do.I completely understand your disappointment after having such a positive experience with the former business Ambermere Restaurant and wanting to share that with your parents in the form of a voucher from Redballoon.Unfortunately this product was removed from Redballoon back on the 4th December 2018 as Ambermere Restaurant closed permanently on the 24th December. All customers who had not redeemed their vouchers such as yourselves were contacted by Redballoon to notify them of this to allow for them to either redeem the voucher (make a booking before the 24th December) or gain a refund or exchange for another product. This was assured to us by Reballoon that this action was done as we wanted to do the right thing by all voucher holders as it was due to unforeseen circumstances that the Restaurant closed and was not re opening when that decision was made. The Restaurant was not simply closing for refurbishments as you stated above. The vouchers were not continued to be sold once we made this decision as you also inaccurately stated above. This experience is no longer available as the former business that was offering this experience is no longer operational. So to clear up any further confusion for you Ambermere Restaurant has closed and no longer exists. A Public Bar & Bistro will be opening in May 2019 and has nothing to do with the former restaurant.I would like to express our disappointment that at no point has there been any contact with us other than a couple of slanderous comments you left on our Facebook page and wish that you would have contacted us so that we could have explained how Redballoon operates. As you have clearly highlighted in your comments above we are in fact NOT in breach of any consumer law as you had not redeemed your voucher with us - no financial transactions has taken place with us only between yourself and Redballoon. No redemption process took place with the former business Ambermere Restaurant."In respect of services it is the independent Experience Providers who provides the experience to you following the redemption of an experience voucher. The independent Experience Providers accepts responsibility for compliance with the Australian Consumer Law in respect of services, that is that the experience was provided with due skill and care and complied with the description made to the purchaser at the time of sale. RedBalloon is not the provider of the experience; see part 11 Providers of Experiences." I understand that you simply wanted your parents to have the food and wine experience voucher that you purchased from Redballoon as it was something that you and your partner previously enjoyed and was also within close proximity to meet your parents travelling restrictions with their disabilities. I do hope that you find another experience for them to enjoy or alternatively they have a refund policy which will make sure you are not out of pocket in light of the situation. We genuinely sympathise for the inconvenience, stress and disappointment that you have experienced with this unfortunate situation as we are and believe this could have been avoided had you taken the time to contact us or Redballoon directly allowing it to be rectified in a more professional manner.Kind regards
