Good food and take-out service. Crab rangoon appetizer was disappointing at best, but the Pad Thai was excellent. We will definitely give it another try.

Thai Garden has been serving hungry people since 1996. People come from all over to enjoy our authentic Thai dishes. We offer different levels of "hot" from Coward to Adventuresome.Take is available and we can handle large orders for your office party or
Might look unusual from the outside but the interior is good. Food is real good & tasted fresh. We had the tom yum & Noodle soup for 2 (huge portion), shrimp wrap. The entrees were tasty & sufficient, as well. We had to take away some of our food. The host was a pleasant young fellow & advised us when asked if it was enough for us & he helpfully suggested that we needn't ordered any more. Most people came for takeout but you wouldn't feel weird dining in as in other restaurants with mostly takeouts. We liked the ambience.

This place is a small shop in a small strip mall in downtown Yarmouth, and much of their business is takeout. And, our experience with take out. The dishes are in the "American" Chinese cuisine, which means that the entrees are prepared for American tastes. And, apparently, that means little to no taste. We ordered their hot-and-sour soup, which was more sour than tasty. True, their Lo Mein noodles were cooked correctly, but neither the vegetables nor the chicken, nor the sauce had any flavor. Similarly, the chicken and mixed vegetables had both, but the preparation was forgettable. We suspect that the wide selection of entrees offered on the remainder of their menu are also without much flavor. And, if this is the palate preference of the area's residents, it is unfortunate because much higher quality Asian fare can be had elsewhere.

We recently moved to Maine, and have been slowly discovering the beauty and uniqueness of this area of the country. Unknown to us, The Garrison is located close to our home in Yarmouth -- inside the Sparhawk Mill on the Royal River. An acquaintance recommended it as an exceptionally good restaurant , and we made a reservation on-line for an early Sunday evening dinner. The location is easy to find...and the Mill sits on the Northeast side of the river with ample parking. When we arrived at 4:50 PM for our 5:00 reservation, we had the opportunity to view the bustling Royal River from the shores, and through the window from our seats in the restaurant. The most beautiful fall scene for sure. We entered through the main door, and were greeted with a pleasing interior design, contemporary music, and a cheerful member of the staff who seated us immediately. The staff throughout the establishment were poised for the evening, and the chefs were present in view to the side of the bar which was a nice touch. Our server stopped at our table, welcomed us to The Garrison, and brought the evening's menus with a brief conversation about the special small plate selections for the evening. The selections from the bar include drafts from local breweries, an assortment of wines, and mixed drinks created by the mixologist . We tried a Baxter IPA on tap, and an "I'm Home Honey" both of which were a pleasant surprise. We ordered a serving of House Fresh Bread- (with herbed butter and oil), which was excellent. The bread is thick crusted and baked in house each day, and a perfect beginning for our dinner experience. We also ordered a Beet Salad to share which was seasoned perfectly and consisted of roasted beets, baby kale, pipitos, bleu cheese crumbles, pickled onion and beet yogurt. There was plenty for two, and the combinations tasted wonderful. For our main course, we chose the Braised Beef and the Pork Shoulder. Both were extraordinary. The Beef was accompanied with squash; it was tender and perfectly seasoned. The Pork was accompanied with Potato Puree and apple, fennel and parsnip slaw. Both definitely 10/10.For desert, we usually share, however we could not agree, and ordered both the Panna Cotta and the Chocolate Brownie / Chocolate Soufflé. What great choices! And of course a wonderful cup of house coffee. All courses arrived promptly, and our server was excellent. As noted by other reviewers, the noise does increase as the restaurant fills, however we did not find this to be problematic for conversation on the evening we were there. In summary, The Garrison provides a truly extraordinary dining experience, and is a wonderful find in the greater Portland area. It is without a doubt one of the best restaurants we have visited this year.
