Ordered two meals for Saturday night tea. Delivery took over an hour and also cost me the princely some of £5.50. My wife never alters her order King Prawn Dhansak. This offering was inedible for some reason and binned. Mine, Chicken Jalfrezi was fine though I needed to microwave it as it was cold. Meals are in my opinion getting poorer and poorer from here. Will not be using place again. £24.85 for two curries and rice and one nan bread delivered seems at the top end.

While the food was good, the portions were so small we had to eat elsewhere after we had left. The fried rice portion was the equivalent to about half of that from takeaway establishments and the rest of the main course was equally as bad. We too felt ripped off. We would not recommend this place.

A small, friendly family run authentic Thai restaurant. With over twenty years experience in Thai cuisine. Everything is prepared on the premises and our menu includes a wide range of vegetarian and gluten free items. Fully licensed with 50 covers. Partie
Saw the great reviews on here and decided to have our anniversary meal at Bangkok Bistro. Big disappointment. As soon as we walked in and said "hi", only to be met with a surly look from a disgruntled teenager in a totally empty restaurant, we knew we had chosen the wrong place. It didn't get any better from there. Service was bordering on rude - we were lucky to get a grunt out of the young girl who obviously didn't want to be there and was probably covering for someone else. Ordered a main each, and after 15-20 minutes one arrived, followed by another 15 minute wait before the other did. Not really what you hope for on a romantic dinner! They were out of juice so ended up having tap water. Atmosphere was non-existent; at one point the music abruptly stopped for about ten minutes and the restaurant was totally silent other than us (no one else was in there). Waitress was mostly absent and the manager, who was pleasant and friendly, didn't appear until we were leaving. There was no apology for the fact that the meal was delayed and there was a mix up with what we ordered from the menu. Two stars because the food was actually tasty and the restaurant itself clean and pleasant, if totally dead and unwelcoming. We wouldn't mind the poor service if it had been busy, but we were the only diners in there. A couple of poor souls came to collect their takeaways and were forced to endure the morgue-like atmosphere with us for a good 10-15 minutes. We couldn't help laughing! We don't like leaving bad reviews and clearly we came at a bad time (?!) but seriously - terrible vibes.

The Raj is in the former Cagneyâs Tandoori property .. which had some admin issues but otherwise was a great Penrith restaurant. Thus evening we wanted a fast and efficient- quality meal so we could get to the cinema. How did it turn out?Wandering in we are used to being greeted... sadly we were ignored and had to find someone who was interested in us. We were shown to a table but in the overflow part of the restaurant even though it wasnât busy. Tucked away and forgotten. Eventually a drinks order was taken but our choice of beer was no longer served. Then why not change the menu!!!The starter was fairly quick and tasty but then the wait for the main course ... with later arrivals eating well before we did... we had to rush in the end to get to the cinema. Poor service and no communication spoilt the otherwise good food ... turns out itâs more of a takeaway than sit down ... but not to look at ... so that took the chefâs attention obviously!Wonât go again. 3 is a fair rating as 2.5 isnât there.

Had a gorgeous meal tonight (as always) - Popadoms and chutney tray followed by a fabulous King Prawn Madras with rice while Brian had Chicken Tikka Balti and his usual Cheese Naan (delicious beyond words) The expected excellent and swift service was as it always is with the smashing Shaek at the helm. Another superb feast. Never fails to satisfy
