Founded by the local nobility at the end of the 16th century, the Real Maestranza maintains a horse-riding school and is also the builder of an impressive bullring, in the centre of the romantic town of Ronda, near Malaga and the Costa del Sol. In modern times, the principal activities are devoted to the conservation of its unique historical and artistic heritage. It has gained a deserved reputation for the recovery of archives, works of art, libraries and original documents relating to its history. The bullring is open to the general public all year round and the visit includes the Bullfighting Museum, the Royal Harness Collection and the Antique Firearms Collection.
I am so glad this was a suggestion to us as it was not well advertised around the town. The whole area is well laid out and clean. The history of the arena, shown through an audio display, is interested and well documented. All of the displays are well written and the audio commentary is timely and well done. This tour can be done at your own leisure and there are spots to sit and relax and experience the atmosphere of the first bull ring in Spain. A fantastic afternoon. The walk along the cliff edge is well worth the effort...... the views are so so stunning.

Due to limited time in Malaga we struggle to locate the Malaga stadium, when we finally arrived at the stadium it was due to close. In the souvenir shop we were told it will be closing in five minutes, when we arrived at the reception we were the only one and our guide was Domingo. The stadium was beautiful also the press room, the home dressing room and the Seating area in the stadium. Best of all was the amazing artwork and the illusion of the Malaga FC badge along the main corridor. We have viewed many football stadium but the illusion in the corridor was outstanding just amazing. Domingo was excellent guide.

I'm lucky to have traveled the world and eat in many restaurants. Torremolinos has many great places to eat. Lovely historic friendly place.

I have never been one for Bullfighting and find it quite grotesque. But the History and pomp of this so called sport is very interesting. The Museum is well laid out, and access to the top tier of the actual ring is included in your price of only 1.5 euros. There is a great little cafe in the nearby square that does a lovely lunch menu. This area is well worth a visit.
