Waffle House

I have eaten at Waffle Houses all over the place and this location is ( by far) the best ever. From the moment we were greeted at the door until we left, we were treated to a truly professional staff that had customer satisfaction as their goal. The restaurant was clean (including the restrooms) and I could not say that every Waffle House has that as a priority. I would think that the Waffle House Corp. office could use this place as a template for other Waffle Houses to try to imitate. Once again " WELL DONE " Team Biscoe !!

Coach's Neighborhood Grill

We stopped here for lunch on the way to the Ewharrrie National Forest. The staff is friendly. The place was almost full so we sat at the bar. I ordered the shrimp jalapeno poppers and my wife got the Chicken Philly sandwich. The poppers were just ok. My wife's sandwich was good. The fries that cam with my wife's sandwich were excellent. I was pleasantly surprised how fast our food came out since they were pretty busy.

My family dine here frequently, bringing my wheelchair-bound mother out to her favorite spot. Tommy, the family & other staff are always welcoming and make sure we have what we need. Daily specials are written on the board, and never disappoint...whether entrees or homemade desserts! Everything on the menu is delicious. Mom especially likes the chicken livers, and I love the pulled pork barbecue and Brunswick stew. Oh, and if you never cared for Brussels sprouts, Tommy’s might change your mind! Lots of vegetables to choose from, if you’re vegan or vegetarian. Best cornbread around!

Eldorado Outpost

Reviewed By Tyaskin

Whenever we go out on the jeep trails in the Uwharrie National Forest, we stop in here. The grill is about the only place to grab a bite for quite a ways if you're having a day of off-road fun. It's also one of the places you can buy your trail permit ($5 per day/$30 season) They have the general grill stuff; burgers, chicken strips, potato wedges, corn dogs, wings, BBQ sandwiches (pretty good but messy if you try to eat it and drive...) Prices are pretty reasonable considering it's virtual monopoly on food in the area. They also have some interesting photos of some of the old gold mining operations in the area, one of which was only a few hundred yards from the outpost. And if you aren't lucky enough to see the legendary "Bigfoot" of the Uwharries, you can still pick up a car sticker, t-shirt, or other knick-Knack with his picture on it at a special stand inside the outpost. They also have camping gear, groceries, firewood, gas, cold drinks, and pretty much everything you'd need to survive a camping trip to the mountains. Nice folks, even on busy summer weekends. So check 'em out when you're down that way on your next Sasquatch hunting expedition, you'll be glad you did. And as always, Happy motoring...
