Dumas (/ˈdjuːməs/ DEW-mus) is a city in Moore County, Texas, United States. The population was 14,691 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Moore County. Located approximately fifty miles north of Amarillo, the city is named for its founder, Louis Dumas (1856–1923). Dumas Avenue, the main thoroughfare, is also United States Highways 287 and 87.

Senior citizens who are used to the wednesday $1.99 chicken fry are now in for a rude awakening. They used to get it and get the gravy in a small container so it wouldn't go all over their meal and make it all soggy so they could save half of it for the next day.Now the manager bless their little heart has decided to enhance the cash register at the expense of these same senior citizens and charge them $.99 to put maybe two tablespoons of gravy in a little plastic container. Bless them for this action!!!!!! This is exactly 1/3 the cost of the meal for something you can get free. This is the only place in the world I have heard of doing this in our town. Everyone is very upset by this action of a greet money hungry management KFC business.To show our support I ask for you to voice your displeasure with them if you do stop there until they decide to treat the senior citizens right who live on a fixed income they don't deserve to ripped off by this extra charge.

We rode up and down 287 in Dumas, looking for a nice place to eat. Finally, because of the full parking lot, we decided on this place. The salad bar was good. The waitress was excellent. The chicken fried steak was ok. The large table with several screaming kids wasnât so good. We could not talk over the kids screaming. But actually, isnât this normal for a family steakhouse? It is, I believe, so Iâm not giving low marks for it. Instead, I found this restaurant to be average. The waitress was a college student that we found absolutely delightful.

Went here late for dinner after a daylong drive from Colorado. Plenty of locals already there. Big menu serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Delicious Mexican menu items. Large portions at reasonable prices. Friendly service. Try the chicken fried steak with creamy gravy or the mexican chicken salad in a tortilla bowl or the hot roast beef sandwich. Incredible pecan pie.

We ate dinner at 4:30pm Tues evening and it was not crowded and the service was great!Chips and salsa were delish!Fajita enchiladas with fried eggs - what a treat!Fajita pita was very good!We enjoyed nice quiet atmosphere and tasty food!Great place for travelers to get refreshed in the Texas panhandle!

What a pleasant surprise in the little town of Dumas, Tx - I will preface my review by saying that everything we tried was delicious (not a fan of the gravy on my potatoes though), but I'm going to rave about my favorite two dishes...the cream corn and the banana pudding, y'all. I'm one of those oddities, that the sides make the meal - meat is just...meat. But the sides, that sets apart the great from the good and the cream corn and banana pudding set this place apart for me, trust me and add those to your meal!!Next, Sweet Tea. So many places get this wrong and Hogg's does Texas proud, their sweet tea was perfect!Lastly the service and hospitality was A+ - Danica was absolutely charming and we had a great time with her, she took great care of us, never felt rushed and the owner personally greets each and every guest, handshakes for the guys, hugs for the gals . We were just impressed all the way around, in fact...my Dad stated he'd drive back to Dumas just for Hogg's and that's a 5.5 hour drive!! Hogg's, don't change a thing and we'll be back!!!

We visited 287 Roadhouse at the recommendation of the hotel where we were staying. My husband and I both had ribeye. The flavor was great. Our server was very attentive and our drinks were never empty. Definitely would stop here again.
