The delightful village of Watamu is an eco-tourist’s dream, lined with sandy white beaches and hotels dedicated to sustainable tourism. Watamu is a quick snorkel away from the Malindi Marine Reserve Park, and Turtle Beach is the ideal spot for a swim and a tanning session. The village proper features quaint Kenyan shopping stalls called dukas, where you can stock up with supplies. Make sure to visit the Gede Ruins, a mysterious and heavily overgrown 12th century Swahili village, and the beautifully fluttery Kipepeo Butterfly Project.

The setting is very nice: good beach in front of the hotel, walking distance to town, the rooms are nice or even superb (rooms at seaside), and the owner as well as staff were extremely friendly. The small bay in front of the hotel is actually like a big natural swimmingpool.

All these experiences are supported by our inventive new cuisine and love for creating the soundtrack to a life well lived. Come find us and join our pursuit for wiser travel, the care for the natural habitats which are supporting us and the appreciation of living a life that leaves a story worth telling.
Temple Point gets some things so wrong, and some things so right it’s actually hard to write a cohesive review. The rooms are not special, quite generic, yet the spaces outside the rooms are great chill areas. The beach nearby is stunning, but they police the beach and won’t allow snorkeling. You would assume they would arrange that their guests could swim with snorkel and goggles. The service at the breakfast restaurant is terrible, the waiters seem confused. The restaurant Lichthaus is gorgeous. The guests there do not interact much, it’s not social. Rather separate families. The pools are very warm and generic big hotel pools. The yoga deck is special. All in all it was expensive for what it offers but much in Kenya is.
