This 18th-century, 18 hectare park also houses the city zoo.
What a lovely park. There's plenty of green space to have a picnic, play with your pup, do yoga, etc., and trails to stroll along or run on. Maksimir is an ideal place to get outdoors while staying in the city.

I have visited quite a number of Zoos all around the world. Yet, to my surprise, this little zoo shows a wide range of animals, snakes, zebra, lion, wolfs etcetc. We spent around 2 hours and learn a lot from the Zoo.

All types of of freshwater fish can be seen in pools, and some are in impressive size! But also relaxing caffe bar area or just walk to the dam are quite nice. A little bit dark in some areas(tunnel), and as well lack of the other wildlife from the water )like frogs, snakes etc) are areas which could be improved...
