We had a quick glass of roseâ and an aubergine caviar appetizer here. This place is colorful and the owners are so friendly. We enjoyed conversation and food. A great place to stop for snacks and a break from the crowds. A huge thank you for visiting us, and for finding time to write these beautiful words...

I visited this restaurant twice before and enjoyed my meal on both occasions. I returned to Nice (2017 was my last visit) and made a reservation.The same guy (Phillipe) greeted us. To be fair, he is a nice friendly guy. As is his colleague Eric. However, the service was completely novice. I don't know whether they realised they gifted 75% of their attention to people they 'knew', and us (and other visitors) suffered. Our starter was completely forgotten about as Eric went off for a sit down and a chat. We had to remind the lady who was more preoccupied with cutting bread.Having to wait 40 minutes for a glass of wine to arrive had my blood boiling too.The food is good, and I acknowledge the chef's hard work. There just seems to be a lack of focus by the guys on the floor. Maybe they don't care? The fact I had returned again shows I enjoyed their restaurant. However, We, and maybe others, felt frustrated and undervalued as customers. The restaurant was pretty busy yet the customer service was woeful due to a laise faire attitude.

We enjoyed a beautiful dinner here, with the sharing platter, bread and tapenade and a carafe of wine. The portion was perfect and, service was very friendly and efficient. There was a really relaxed atmosphere and it was lovely to sit outside and watch passers by while enjoying a delicious meal. If we were staying in Nice longer we would definitely return. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Nice!

This place is simply the best BQ I have had on this side of the pond. Hands down. Everything served at the Bootgrill (and I have tried pretty much everything!) is lovingly prepared and cooked by Thierry. You can feel the passion in the food. I mean, octopus and pickled onions, scallops grilled int he shell, grilled lobster tail and potatoes, and of course, the tomahawk... The food is great, and the service and atmosphere are a solid YES! There is an air of friendly banter throughout the dining area, as good food and good humour go together like beef and beer! Speaking of beer, a great selection of local and not so local craft beer. Including my favorite, Blue Coast!

This was recommented from Tripadvisor and the hotel. Nice place, friendly service, but really odd food. Also from taistewise. Lot of vedgies which was good, but for ex I took first sardines in vinegarsauce. There was no vinegar but the sardines were so hard that one had to get the skin off to be able to eat it. Figure it out how you do it in a bowl where it was served?I had my granddaughter with me - and she was with me in hotel which recommented this restaurant...there was nothing even close suitable for children.They were nice enought to make her small risotto and chicken breast at the price of 25â¬....My main course , also 25⬠, should have had grilled squid, but it had not seen the grill and and it was like gum. Really hard to chew. And in the 25⬠portion there was only tomato sauce and little bit of fennel .So, no. Can not recommend .Dear Madam,I exactlly rmember you. Your table was the first and the number one. You write that the food was strange but not that it was bad. Certainly, it was not your taste, if you allow me.The sardines were raw and marinated with xeres. Indeed, they were not with a xeres sauce. But we never explained that to you..... Your little girl was adorable but how could I tell you ? The chef cooked him a dish specially for her that was not on the menu.You may have waited a little but your little girl had to adjust because her plate came back perfectly empty ..... The squid was grilled and it was accompanied by a piperade and fennel quarters as indicated on the menu.I'm really sorry but at each serving plate we usually ask you your feeling and seeing the plates empty, you understand that precisely we do not understand your comment.
