Located within Salamander Resort and Spa and open to the public. Small plates of Piedmont-inspired cuisine are paired to the selection of both featured Virginia wines and international selections, then served throughout the day and evening. Whether you en
My daughters and I enjoyed a "girls' getaway" at The Salamander resort, complete with a spa day and lunch at the Gold Cup Wine Bar. The wine list was impressive and extensive, with some interesting flights to try. We tried a variety of appetizers and luncheon offerings, all of which were fantastic. The Gold Cup is casual and friendly, although in a lovely setting off the lobby, and a great place to people watch. The servers and bartender were simply delightful and made us feel like friends - can't ask for anything more!

We have several friends that are members at the winery and we've had a great experience until today. The management team greeted us at the entrance to tell us that we weren't welcome at the winery since we did not make a reservations. We were a group of 12 that could have easily broken into two of 6 They were rude, disrespectful and were not willing to accommodate our group. Even though there was an over abundance of seating available. There was 30 t0 40 seats available from just what we could see at the entrance. I questioned why and the female manager among asked me to leave the premises although I was having a very civil conversation with the other manager. Our entire group was taken back with the treatment we received. I made reservations with two other wineries and would have done the same if the website had been clearly made a point that you were only welcome with a tasting. 75% of the chairs were available so you would think they would have accommodated us. Instead they embarrassed myself and my clients. I would have gladly paid more but they didn't even extend that option. We went to 50 West Vineyards and Chrysalis who were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. A recommendation to all..... do not make plans to visit Stone Tower it you expect to receive exceptional customer service. There will be several members who will be getting out of their membership after being treated so badly.

Lovely bistro with a diverse menu and a great selection of wine and cocktails. The staff was friendly. The acoustics made it challenging to talk, but the atmosphere was nice, in general. Weâd go back.

One reviewer wrote "service will destroy this place" and I agree. The staff seemed confused about what to do, taking the order, and what it needed to look like when served. We ordered the Bacon Lollipops & House Deviled Eggs - and they were average. We also ordered the shrimp and pesto flatbread and was served the pear flatbread. It was corrected. The flatbread was good. I was in the mood for sangria but that is only served pitcher style. They told me I could order a wine slushy by the glass - and so I did. Sadly they were all out of slushy.... then why offer it up??? Lo and behold they decided to make a sangria by the glass for me due to the "slushy incident" - out came a wine glass with a pale grainy looking substance. In swoops the bartender and apologizes that it is not ready and takes it back. The glass comes back 5 min later with ice and a straw. The last time I looked that does not make it a sangria. Where are the fruit bits????I will check the box on this one and not go back.

Our group of 4 couples first tasted some wines, then visited the restaurant on site. The wine tasting offered 2 different schemes, depending on your wine preferences. This was a good option, because each couple chose different tastings in order to try all of the possibilities. Many wines were excellent, though some were pricey. One tasting offered a choice from the 'chocolates and truffles' display. If you like chocolate, this was a great option. We all bought a small selection of wines and moved to the restaurant. Nice menu with lots of items for lunch or dinner. I chose 2 appetizers, the pot stickers (w/pork) and the crab/lobster bisque. This turned out to be an excellent combination. Others were all over the menu with their choices, but everyone liked the food. Overall, we were impressed with Cooper's Hawk.
