Top 5 Traveler Resources in Bergen, Western Norway

February 5, 2022 Etsuko Causey

The colorful Norwegian city of Bergen is also a gateway to majestic fjords. Bryggen Hanseatic Wharf will give you a sense of the local culture – take some time to snap photos of the Hanseatic commercial buildings, which look like scenery from a movie set. Don’t breathe too deeply when you visit the outdoor fish market, a reminder of the city’s role in early fish trade. Ferry across a fjord to Lysøen, where the former villa of 19th-century composer Ole Bull will captivate you with fairytale charm.

Grieghallen

Norways largest combined cultural- and congress venue. A meeting place for the best possible experience - with a personal touch. With its diversity, flexibility and the high quality of its facilities and technical capabilities, Grieghallen represents the top of the market in staging cultural activities, trade fairs, conferences, receptions and fine catering. Our aim is 100% satisfaction amongst our clients, no matter how large or small. Grieghallen is probably best known for its main stage, where audiences have had close contact with some of the greatest performers of our era over the past 40 years. But the entire Grieghallen complex offers so much more, with spaces suited to a wide variety of functions. We take pride in the high quality service delivered by our catering and technical partners. Grieghallen is centrally located, so the bus and train stations, the Fish Market, historic Bryggen, in fact all of downtown Bergen is within easy walking distance.

It’s right there in the heart of the city in front of the lake. I just needed to get my euros exchanged to NOK, went there at the guy on the counter was very helpful. He exchanged the currency in less than a minute and gave me coins on request. They even gave me good information about the city and tours. One can buy tickets from here of sea tours etc. it’s at the right location to serve the tourist in the best way possible.
